Love Is War.
Life doesn't always go as planned, which is why we should be prepared for anything at any time.
I am just coming back from a friend's place and all I could do is sit and think and ask why.
So today, I decided to unwind by visiting an old time friend and on getting there, I saw her looking so gloomy which was very unusual of her.
She began to tell me how her marriage of four years was on the verge of crashing and I just couldn't stop thinking about it and asking how. Why?
Why do people change? Why do people who claim to love you change their minds suddenly and hurt us? What happened to the marriage vows? Whatever happened to love and forbearance?
She has been praying to conceive a child and that has been the reason why the man suddenly changed, according to her, he wouldn't come home on time, he doesn't spend time with her as before and he doesn't show concern about her well-being, it even as though he is starting to see someone new, as he's always on the phone on long hours and laughing endlessly and threatening her with a divorce at any chance he gets.
She told me how sweet this same man was while they were courting and it hurts so much now that he has changed, he seems to have forgotten the beautiful moments they both shared and lately, he doesn't even sleep at home and he gives flimsy excuses why he spent the night elsewhere.
"I am not the one who gives children!" She cried out and I could tell her heart was shattered already and she was gradually giving up.
As much as this sounds hard, I believe Love is war, love is ready to fight and make it work, yes she's not at fault in any way but I believe she needs to find the strength and courage to fight for her marriage to work out.
The Dido song talks about not putting a white flag above her door because she is in love and will always be, I find it hard to let go of people that I've come to love and I can tell how harder it will be for my friend to let go of this bond, someone you've shared a lot with, your body, your soul, time, energy and resources.
I pray she finds the strength and the wisdom to go on and I hope her heart desires comes true this year.
For anyone experiencing a similar situation, I pray for you and I hope you remain stronger and draw closer to God, for he alone can give you strength beyond what is normal to cope.

Delay in conception has scattered many marriages. I believe the purpose of marriage is beyond conception. Whatever the situation is, it is meant to be tackled by both parties. This requires patience. I understand her pains. May God grant her heart desires.

This is a common challenge in many relationships. The man acts all sweet and all while things are still on the surface but once the boat sails deeper and a storm arises, this same sweet man jumps boat leaving the woman to fend for her self. God is the giver of children, He is the one who knows best not man

This scenario coincides with my thought this evening as I was cooking dinner. I compare the time when all is rosy in love versus when love goes sour. You wonder if the person who once loved is the same as the one who no longer loves.
