Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee
Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Belize and assorted islands (Falklands, Tristan Da Cunha, Jersey etc) celebrates 70 years on the throne this year.
She became Queen on 6th February 1952, but the celebrations in all her realms are taking place now on a 4-day official holiday weekend from June 2nd to June 5th.
70 years is a lifetime. To give you an idea just how long she has been Head of State, here she is with Harry Truman who was the American President at the start of her reign:
