Description:

Units with melee attacks may not be used.


Use Phase, Void, Void Armor, and Magic Reflect to counter magic attacks.

Use Headwinds and Return Fire to counter ranged attacks.

Units with 2 types of attack (which include melee) cannot be used.

Keep no attack or higher HP monsters in the front. Keep higher speed Magic monsters with abilities like Flying, Dodge, Blind in the front.

The Battle Ruleset

Rise of the Commons: Only Common and Rare Monsters may be used in battles.
Aim True : Melee and Ranged attacks always hit their target.
Keep your Distance: Monsters with Melee attack may not be used in battles.


This is a high mana ruleset game and only three color is available to play, which the Fire, Water and Dragon Splinters. I like to play under these circumstances, because the possibilites to bring anything is high and hopefully I will be able to counter my opponent strategy.

The Keep Your Distance will ban all the monsters from this battle, so it is important to use different tanks than usual in the result of that.

The Aim True is always good, because all the monsters will hit their target no matter what and the Rise of the Commons will allow the use only the Rare and Common monsters, without any Legendaries and Epics. 😀

My Team Composition

Yodin Zaku is a very good summoner for this ruleset, because he gives +1 ranged attack and health to all of his monsters, but more importantly his Blast damage will be superior on his monsters.

I used the Prismatic Energy as my tank, because its have good speed lot of health and the Magic Reflect ability, which is especially good against magic attack monsters.

The Gargoya Devil will be my second tank in this battle, because he has the Close Range ability, so he will be able to attack from the first position as well if it comes to that.

The Technowizologist is very good creature in this battle, because he has Stun ability, which means that he will have 50% chance to Stun his target and if he do that his target will skip their turn completely.

The Tinderlock has a a lot of health, which is always good and on top of that he also has the Close Range ability to attack from the first position. He also has the Last Stand ability, so he will increase his own stats by 50% if he will be the last monster left on my side of th battlefield.

The Ash Mirage is one of the best counter for the Keep Your Distance ruleset, because the enemy team most likely would bring a lot of ranged attack monsters, so it is always good to decrease their ranged attack by one thanks to his Headwinds ability.

The Mantoid cost only 6 mana and he has nice damage and the Snipe ability, so he will always target the second monster in the enemy lineup.

The +1 ranged attack from Yodin helped a lot and made my monsters quite powerful. The Blast damage played a huge role in this battle, because it helped a lot to kill two of their monsters in the first round.

The second round started the a similar way, because my team killed another two of their monsters and the Blast damage was just too much to handle for them.

My opponent easily lost the remaining two of their monster and the battle finished just before it started and I have to owe a huge thanks to Yodin Zaku who made this to happen. 😆

Do you like Keep your Distance? Why or why not?

Well I would say it is okay, because if you remove the melee attack monsters it will be easier to counter the other two attack type and you can try other monsters as tank and different synergies, which you wouldn't do if the melee attack monsters were present. 😇
