Art & Creativity: Off to A Slow Start in April!
Well, I had high hopes of getting off to a "running start" on the second quarter — from an art creation perspective — but the only thing I have been busily engaged with so far has been paperwork!
It's tax time!
If you don't live here in the USA, in this country our annual income tax returns are due on or immediately after April 15th, every year. This year the due date is actually April 18th, because April 15th happened on a Saturday.
Anyway, Alchemy Stones files its own "Schedule C" documentation for tax purposes, and I have been working on that (and lots of other boring paperwork) for the past couple of weeks, and there has really not been any time for creativity.
2022 was definitely not a banner year for Alchemy Stones, with sales of just $3,075 and net profits of $1,663. I guess you could argue that it's "money we wouldn't otherwise have," but it's still pretty sad, when compared to how I was doing before Covid messed everything up.
In Other News: HiveList!
On a more positive note, we did get around to applying to get a HiveList Store, right here in our own Hive ecosystem!
I'm excited about that, because I've long been a big proponent of a peer-to-peer marketplace being a really strong Use Case for Hive because actual commerce is something people with no crypto or blockchain experience can relate to... AND having a marketplace that conducts its business in Hive/HBD creates an actual need to buy and be invested in the tokens for reasons other than just trying to be a market trader with no actual investment in the well-being of the community.
Haven't had time to set up a HiveList store yet — that'll come once taxes are out of the way — but I have poked around the merchant "back end" and tried to familiarize myself a bit with how things work.
I don't have any huge expectations as far as selling things go... for the most part, I'm interested in supporting the marketplace and being part of its early stages. Hopefully it will become something! And when we do sell something, I'm planning to use the proceeds to either power up this account (which was recently decimated by a draw-down to help pay our property taxes) or to just add to my HBD savings balance.
For the moment, the extent of my support amounts to applying for the store, and staking 10,000+ LIST tokens which you can find on Hive-Engine.
More to follow on this process, as things unfold!

I love that hive list got added to the main page and is promoted by hive. I totally see the potential of this.
