I see a three successive steppings designed in a trapezium shape as the entrance floor, a machine gun at the entrance, and a thick cylinder like building that cannot be easily broken built from ancient bricks with a square like opening in the center to aid accessibility attached to a city wall which is well mounted by it gate keepers.

Gwanga in her early years after conception became a populated community. Within few years she grew in agriculture, craft men, resources and man power. She became the envy of the neighboring communities.

Day in and out, people from far and wide trooped in to trade and also to do other businesses within Gwanga. The elders and council members recorded massive growth in a very short span and continually reviewed strategies on how to better the economy of its community.

5 years into her independence, Gwanga was stormed with an attack from an unknown armed men and this left her with loss of properties, human lives and burnt down farm lands. The once beautiful and serene Gwanga became a wailing centre.

It took more than two quarter of the year for her people to get pass the loss the community experienced. Business slowly took up it pace and they people went about their regular activities.

The Head Chief, Mr. Dudu called the council for an emergency meeting on a Friday evening. The elders arrived one after the other wearing concerns on their faces as to why such an emergency meeting would be fixed in such a short time and with no circular on the agenda of the meeting.

When all were sitted, Chief Dudu like his culture is greeted the elders and stood up from his sit to address them.

gmmmm… he cleared his throat.

Elders of Gwanga, I have been unable to get a proper sleep since the attack on our people, Gwanga is no longer safe, and my people are now living in fear. What can be done elders? We must not fold our arms and do nothing just to be surprised with more attacks in the future.

Cratus a member of council took turn after the chief spoke to lend his suggestion.
Blessings my chief and everyone seated here, I haven’t had my peace either since and I am happy you brought this up my chief. As we all know Gwanga is situated in the outskirt of other communities and so attack for the enemy is easy being that we can barely get help from our neighboring clans and I am sure the attackers leveraged on that factor. I will suggest we set up a defense for our people.

After much deliberation the council agreed unanimously to scout for individuals in the built environment across the community, to come up with a structure that will man the entrance of the so as to monitor and check movements within and without the clan.

A week later men across all fields in the built environment join the council meeting as they got briefed on the matter on ground.

After ten (10) working days Sadu the lead man of the team via appointment came back with a draft accompanied by the rest of the team members to the council to present their building plan. After a careful explanation to the council, the elders being satisfied gave their approval and at the end of the meeting sent out letters to all merchants in the community to send in their materials to aid in the construction and building of the conceived plan.

Three months later, the anticipated structure at the entrance of Gwanga became a reality and mounted also at the entrance of the structure is a machine gun to aid fight wars when such arises.

No more will the people of Gwanga be threaten of their livelihood.

Glad that safety is once again restored to Gwanga, the Chief named the entrance “The Safe”.
