Volunteer Project Picking the Trash - Together to Make Our Village Clean , Cambodia

Greetings everyone ! Involve helping in the society is a good things for citizens to be part of the improvement. Today, you will be able to see such a beautiful project from everyone in my villages.

On January 2nd 2023, Svay Rolum Village have been prepared to make a change. More than 20 people are volunteer to pick the trash along the street. However, as a group project have been divided into three team, we can not see all of them here in one area, so there are less people in front of my house.

It's been two days since the village chief started their ambitious cleanup of the village, and they're making progress! So far, they've asked for volunteers to help with the cleanup and pick up trash in front of my house. In facts, our village head is motivated to recover the village's cleanliness again.

For all of us as a citizen and the members, we keep them as important and high respectful people in the village. They work with the village council to make decisions and find solution on each issue, also willing to keep the village running smoothly. They also take care of the villagers and always respond to their needs. Whenever they see the poor, they care for us by reported to the government, and the government searching for their family and have a donation for them every month. No matter how difficult the situation is, they are always willing to find a solution for everyone in the village. This shows how much I respect my village head.

The solider is also involve as a society volunteer, he spent the two days helping the village chief and his volunteers clean up the village. It was hard work, but it was worth it he always walk with a smiling. He said he is so proud of himself and the village chief for this accomplishment. The village looked so much better and he felt like I had made a difference. If more people volunteered to help clean up their villages, the world would be a cleaner and better place.

More than a million tons of plastic end up in Svay Rolum village every single year, and plastic brings a very bad impact to the earth both for life and all environment surrounding. Yesterday, our leader as well as the main members have discuss about the environment issue. For 2 hours talks, we have studied that the main factors that effect to our village the most are trash and the lake of electricity, by knowing about how big consequence it will become if we did not make a change or have an mission, we try to find the possible solution. Today, our village chief come up with a good project, which is calls Kagnea Smakjet, this translate as Volunteer Works. The project is to pick the trash and clean up the street.

These days, even though the pandemic is no longer a big concern, our leader and many volunteers are still have to wear masks and take precautions to prevent the spread of dirt and germs. However, our village leader is still leading by give as an example and encouraging us to do our part in keeping the environment clean. It's really inspiring to every members in our Svay Rolum village who is used to throw the trash in the public environment to making a difference change, no matter what the circumstances are we need to put the garbage, litter, or trash in the bins

Villages life always nice to have a leader who is friendly and approachable. When I opened my phone camera, I shouted to her very loud asking her permission '' If I could take pictures of her ", I am sure I can because I knew she was a kindness person, but I still prefer asking since I want to make her actually conscious. Instantly, as I was expected, she replied me as loud as I shout. She said " Oh! I know you want to take me to your blog, so please take it, I am please with this ". Even though she replied to me with a mask on her face, but I assumed that she was smiling while we shout. Sounds strange! Because, we stand a bit far from each other, therefore; shout is the only ways that make us able to interact. Moreover, this is a national street where there are many traffic and noise, we find it reasonable to shout.

It was so funny as well. The cools things is that when I start taking picture of her, she actually poses and gives me a smile with style. In fact, she posed for me with a two-finger style, which gave me the impression that she's actually quite confident and comfortable in front of the camera. This shows that she is truly happy of her work in the clean-up adventure. I think wearing mask is still important, especially nowadays when the number of people who spread the virus is still increase in my country. We have to prevent the dirt because they have to pick the trash so that put on mask is a must.

The time when I started taking photos of them during the clean up adventure, they didn't even mind, they still continues the project.

Before they left my house, I just assisted them in picking up trash because I had already cleaned up my house both behind and in front of my house, so there was very little litter and trash. In general, people in my village are very involved in society action; they help volunteers pick up trash as well, and they even take photos of volunteers, like I do, and then post them on social media so that everyone can imitate this good activity.

After they left my house, my neighbor's dog, Luke, was simply staring far away and still staring at the volunteer how they work and they turn left so that we can't see them longer and yet I forgot to snap photographs when they walk into other houses to locate garbage and pick up trash in order to make the village looks clean than before.

This voluntary effort strikes me as respectable. For one thing, if you involve with the action, it shows that you are a responsible individual. When you clean up your community, you show your willingness to care for it. This is a desirable trait since it indicates your ability to care for other people and things.

Another bonus of cleaning up your town is that it becomes a more pleasant place to live. If your town is neat and clean, everyone who lives there will have a better time. This is because it will be cleaner and more aesthetically pleasing.

The village head has been working hard to make the village clean again. I respect their passion and hard effort. I am confident that, with their help, the community will soon be clean and prospering again.
