Christmas in Nigeria is a family affair, a time when a lot of family members gather together to celebrate and have fun. The majority of families travel to villages where their grandparents and other relatives live. This example illustrates how the majority of Nigerians, including myself, love Christmas. As I grew up, I always looked forward to presents, but as I grew older, I discovered that there is more to Christmas than presents and that presents are equally important. Last year, we went to Epe in Lagos to celebrate the festive season with my aunt, who lives at Iraye but this year, in Oyo state Nigeria, we are planning to host them, and we are already planning to host them in Ibadan. The family will enjoy the Ibadan recreation centre, which has tar and sand tennis courts, a large swimming pool with pool beds, an indoor squash court, and a billiards table. We want them to get a sense of what the pacesetter state is like at Ibadan Recreation Club. We're planning on having a family reunion in Abraka Turf and Country Club, delta, as well as some of our family members in Ghana. Abraka Turf and Country Club is Abraka's pride and joy. It has a lush, steamy rainforest that is soothing to the body, as well as a marine environment. This spot is perfect for family gatherings due to the breathtaking view of sunrise and sunset, the quiet rise of the early morning sun, and the birds' soothing hum. Because travelling is my passion, I can't wait for them to arrive.
I'm planning on making special delicacies for the festivity. Chicken, beef, mutton, or chevon will be served with either of the following jollof rice, fried rice, pounded yam, or various stews in Nigeria.

The cheerful people, delicious baked goods, and Christmas songs make the holiday of Christmas something I look forward to every year. I'm excited for the holiday season thanks to the harmattan and the cold weather. I see it all around the country.
The wind of the festivity is already blowing and everyone will get off work or school which makes people happy, perhaps. Or maybe it's the Santa Clause you see in every mall. On the day before Christmas, we have a tradition in which all family members gather together to thank God for guiding us through another great year; this is the best part of it all; it brings out a certain joy in me. Seeing the same enthusiasm in others makes me realize how wonderful the season can be, especially with our pastor, Prof. Adesola, praying for the family. This is just a bonus to the already perfect holiday.
This year, I and MIB, Moses, Isaac, and Benjamin are planning on spicing the festivity. Uncle Kwame Adeniyi, who also comes from Kumase in Ghana, is expected to be pranked. We are going to do this to him because he refused to settle us before returning to his base last year. Families are like branches on a tree, we grow in different directions yet our roots remain as one. I can't wait to meet my family members this festive period.
