Proof of Brain is a system that rewards its users with tokens for the content they create on the blockchain. Rewarding users with those tokens motivates them to continue publishing more quality and unique content on the blockchain network. We say that it is a method of rewarding users that bring value to their blockchain network. Let's look at how this type of consensus works.

How Proof of Brain Functions

This type of consensus works in a way by rewarding content creators on the blockchain with tokens as a form of reward. It shows that a user receives rewards for creating content onto the blockchain network which is in the form of cryptocurrency or tokens.

Proof of brain uses rules of algorithm and logic to indicate who is responsible to receive the tokens. This algorithm doesn't just pick any user but instead, it selects based on some factors including, quality content, unique content, how engaging your content is, etc.

After looking for all these factors, the algorithm then decides the number of tokens to give to the author of the content. Content receives tokens based on the value of the content.

Advantages of Proof of Brain
Firstly, the incentives given to content creators to help motivate them in producing quality content is a good advantage of this system. The tokens that content creators do receive would help in encouraging them the most. As a matter of that, there would be a continuous flow of quality content on the blockchain network.

In addition, content creators can monetize their content upon the rewards that they receive for writing them. As a matter of monetizing their content, would help to make the blockchain platform a profitable and valuable platform of all time.

Lastly, there is the encouragement for content creators to continue producing quality and useful content. The tokens they get as incentives would serve as motivational tokens to them. Also, it would help to attract more users as well as increase engagement on the blockchain network.

The disadvantage of Proof of Brain
As this consensus solely depends on users producing quality content to get rewarded, it would become very difficult and unsuccessful if users do not produce content of the high quality, they wish to see. This would lead to the collapse of the blockchain network.

Similarly, some deserving content may get no rewards because the algorithm is designed to look for some factors when awarding the content. In a situation where a user produces a very informative post but might get no rewards for that due to it not meeting those factors it looks for, but then the post is very useful and quality. This would turn to lead to the skipping of quality content by users making it difficult for users to determine who deserves rewards.

Lastly, the tokens awarded are sometimes difficult to be traded for in the form of currency and other fiat currencies as well.
