My phone is my workshop…

A few days ago I was on a call with a friend of mine, the call took some time because we had to discuss over hours, and at the time I was about to say goodbye because I had already begun to feel the pains in my arms for holding my phone so long. If I had an earphone it might have been better for calls.

After which our discussion later switched towards how uneasy it is to be on our phone for almost 24 hours of the day. For any small thing, we grab our phone. I complained about my fingers aching so much from frequent typing. And that's why I even prefer getting calls than having chats with people. I find it stressful to chat over time.

One thing that made me complain was that, for over five or six years now, I have been writing blogs, and my only source for writing which I consider the fastest is my phone. Some are used to desktops and laptops. But I find myself typing so fast using my phone. I have even practiced typing without looking at my phone keyboard before.

My present device is a heavy one compared to the ones I have been using in the past, but it's way faster and more reliable than the others. So anytime I hold it the pain rests on the fingers that support the phone and any time I am done, I would have to stretch out those fingers for ease.

I just can't call my device my wife or my best friend. Only if I could tell my phone to go and prepare food for me, or I could keep conversing and laughing with it then its rank might have gone so far.

But notwithstanding, you see some people call themselves introverts and that's nothing but because of their phones. Once you get their phone away from them I bet the real introverts are not much at all.

We got so addicted to our phones, many things that we can do with our phones. Gone are the days when we get freckles by watching movies from television sets. Nowadays, just have a phone with data and you are good to go. You will watch at your leisure and at your convenience.

What are my go-to apps on my phone?

My apologies for some apps that I just have installed on my phone for years and not even opened them for once 😂. Not my fault.

I found myself used to a lot of apps but some are more of a priority than the other. Since the moment I discovered earning online and also an Avenue for me to learn. Then I already switched my mindset. If I were asked this about seven years ago, my go-to apps on my phone were Facebook and other social media platforms where I would waste all my data and gain nothing in return.

As soon as I started with the blockchain, my browser got an extra job and became the celebrity app on my phone. I have it centered in one corner of my screen where I can just get to it with one click from my home page. I have been using my Chrome browser a lot for creating content and also getting more research for my content.

Up next is WhatsApp media. I paid attention to WhatsApp because of its instant messaging features. So I got used to checking on people and making important conversations. WhatsApp is also not so bad to have fun when you get to view your contact’s statuses.

Then Discord is the next app, I have been on Discord for years now. At first, the app looked so strange to me, not easy to navigate. But I don't know how I got so addicted to this app. Since it is like a home to all of the businesses we run online. So I take it like Chrome being a workplace and then Discord serving as a home to relax and meet with families.

After all these then you can see me using my KM player or YouTube app. And these are there for me to watch movies and relax. YouTube is where I watch some online movies and also some shorts and KM player serves as an offline screenplay for me.

I can't say the last time I installed all the social media apps like Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. I find them distracting with no good use to me. But to some content creators, if they were asked then these media apps will surely be one of their favorites.

So our choices differ but what matters is that we are happy doing what we do from the time we spend on our devices.

I guess many of us would have high screen times on Chrome as Hivers. I mostly spend a lot of my time jumping from many apps to the other as well. I'm curious, though, if you wanted to relax with your phone, what app would you be on?

I guess I didn’t make myself clear enough in the post.
I use KM players for videos offline and YouTube for online. I don’t play mobile games that much anymore. So it can’t be any gaming app. And I don’t listen to music too.
