It isn’t just misinterpretation ,but more a reflection of structural choices that many prefer to keep how it is. The other two abrahamic religions passed through different adjustments to adapt their texts to a modern reality. Religious interpretation and legal frameworks need reform according to modern knowledge that changes through time. I would say for example that the UAE is more advanced in this way for example.
Let time heal, we have already seen how Islam is practiced differently in various countries. I have previously discussed in my blogs how Saudi Arabia and Pakistan treat the Qur’an differently. One emphasizes reading and understanding it, believing that true respect comes from engaging with its message, while the other focuses more on keeping the physical book safe, clean, and placed in high or honored locations.
