Throughout the 1990's I spent most of my life living in South America and Puerto Rico. Having grown up in the US it was a real eye opener as to just how well off I had things while living in a first world country.
My Mom and Dad always raised us regulary volunteering our service for the less fortunate. Up to now, I have been bringing food to the homeless families. It keeps me grounded and humble

That's a great thing they did, it makes you appreciate those less fortunate than yourself. It's a real problem in the world today when people really take what they have for granted. Even the poor people here in California live like royalty compared to some poor Central American countries!
