After almost two years of being shut out, I finally got access to my Twitter account. It marks the end of a very protracted saga between me and Twitter that has seen me actually give up on the account.
Recall that my account was banned as a result of a conversation between me and my actual friend in real life. Thanks to the use of what is widely considered a racial slur but contextually is an endearment in Nigeria, I was unceremoniously banned from Twitter.
The worst part about being banned from Twitter is the silence in the background. You get zero interactions with Twitter and they genuinely treat you like you're crap.
Ever since Elon Musk took over Twitter, it has been rebranded to "X" and has been bandied about as the home of "free speech". Throughout this period, I have been banned but watched from the sidelines as the platform morphed into a cesspool of vile opinions.
Now, all I'm saying is that if there are openly racist people sharing their opinions on Twitter, I hardly see why my account was still banned, despite not saying anything even remotely as vile as the others.
Anyway, I reckon Twitter are looking to squeeze out as much money from people these days, so they decided to let me out of the dog house.
I've been away from crypto Twitter since the ban and I've noticed that the scene hasn't changed much. These days there's a lot of interest in meme coins and ponzinomics.
These days, it seems like everyone has accepted that meme coins are all ponzi and satisfied with playing "who will be the last fool?" in this crypto Russian Roulette.
As for me, I intend to continue sharing hive publications on Twitter, even though the chances are that I'm being shadow banned anyway. I'll just keep putting it out there and telling people about the awesome things happening in the community.
Hive is just a place where one can come to and will always be welcomed.
Sometimes, I dont see a reason not to be consistent on hive
It's unusual, there are truly racist people, and uncensored content on Twitter. But, Elon only crosses out some.
