RE: True forgiveness comes from the heart

Full forgiveness is realized when the offender is genuinely repentant of their actions. The ideal outcome is a friendship restored between the offender and the victim, a conditional trust re-established and perhaps damages compensated for. But human nature for what it is, most outcomes are far from ideal. We can only deal with what we have control of. Our response to it. How we come to terms to the hurt and pain and how long before we finally let it go. Carrying such a weight only continues to harms us physiologically but also spiritually, effecting those around me. I can only make the experience better me, rather than letting it embitter me.
