Creating a quality video with AI – Creating and animating Spaceships

$1

In this post, we will work on a scene in the video where Tania Lemaire is talking about a vessel called Jumper that makes a daily transfer between Liotes and the mother ship, the Ark 62. This is the ship that brought the people to Liotes. The Ark is in the orbit of the planet.

I will first create an image of the Ark in orbit of Liotes. I will use the following prompt for it:

A stationary big white space ship that is in orbit around a red orange planet

That is the result that I have chosen. I needed to generate a certain number of images until I was happy with the result:

In a second step I created the other space ship, the Jumper that is much smaller. For that I use the following prompt:

A white and orange space ship with grey background

That's how I decided that Jumper would look like:

Combining images for a video

Before I will animate anything, I will try to merge images together using Flux Kontext. I will put both vessels as references and try to create images where both ships are together.

That was quite tricky and I needed tor try several prompts:

The reference image with the red orange planet is the background image. Keep everything unchanged but zoom the camera out a bit. The white and orange ship is much smaller than the mother ship and it is flying towards it.

Here the result of the combination of both images

Initially, I wanted to create several images with different distances between the two ships so that I could use something called first and last frame. I would feed the AI with the first frame of the video and the last frame of the video. Like that AI has less freedom to warp things.
But unfortunately, I don't have enough experience with this way of creating videos. Therefore, I needed to come up with another solution. I simply created an image with Jumper flying from the planet and then I created an animation where he simply entered the mother ship.

You will need to wait for the finished project to see the result of that ;-).

I need a second video for this scene. One where Jumper is leaving Lenopolis. For that I will combine again two images using Flux Kontext. The image of the settlement that we had generated earlier and the image of the Jumper. I use the following prompt:

The Space ship flies towards the settlement on the planet. The settlement and the planet are the background image. Keep the structure and the form of the images unchanged. Wide angle.

Here the result:

To animage this, I used the Pixverse model with this prompt:

The space ship flies through the image from left to right. There are some exhaust fumes coming from the ship.

I'm quite happy with this result. Here the result as a gif.

I believe that I have almost enough visual material for this scene now. Now what remains to be done is the fine tuning and editing. Everything will need to be combined and edited. I will also need to look into the sounds to add to the video.

You really tried hard. It's getting better and better :)

Thanks man, a lot of effort went into this project :-)

I think the result looks quite nice. It looks like it is getting there, and once you have everything worked out, the second time won't take as long.

It's definitely getting easier the more I work with these tools.

Good work once again. Though, with all the descriptions you've given so far, it seems like even with AI help, it is still a pretty work intensive task.
