The goat must have felt very confused by what was happening. The son had good intentions, but he must have thought that selling the same goat over and over again would eventually raise suspicions.

I think if you read properly, you'd see that the son couldn't send money home... so he always found a way to buy the goat back for his mom, so she could sell it again and make money... the buttom line of the story iss that the òld lady was judged without asking how she always got the goat back
