I think rebels is more real than Andor as it balances the super serious with the silly in a way that’s more akin to real life. People irl aren’t like in Andor all the time! dour sour super serious giving long winded monologues on command. There’s also (especially in military situations) idiots, rapscallions, goofballs, dumdums and general fuddy duddys. So yea in Andor when mon bail and Draven have this serious convo right in the next room is zeb and Ezra playing keep away from chopper(And chopper kneecapping them in response)
Andor is the greatest character driven story in sw and I don’t think anyone is taking that title soon. But in terms of a show with a complete narrative and comparable scale and tone to Star Wars ‘77 “Star wars: Rebels” takes it for me.
In s1 they show the empire is blockading and starving systems and our guys are delivering aid. You don’t need to see edgy imagery like some kids ribs sticking out to know starving planets out is bad. Rebels also paints a way better picture of working parts of the machine that is the rebel alliance.
Honestly if your outright dismissing rebels as goofy weekly adventure maybe it’s time for a rewatch cause that’s pretty off the mark imo. Plus you had ezra’s parents being killed by stormtroopers and that being why he collects all their helmets and also why he’s an orphan
Plus a whole friggin arc about how Sabine’s father was held hostage to force her clan to cooperate
And then another arc that had them freeing mandalore from imperial rule.
