Splinterlands has recently launched the land update brought to you by cryptomancer. They have boldly done this while simultaneously launching the Splinterlands validator. Congratulations, we're land barons on a decentralized ledger.
Now, I know something of these things already because I help manage the hive-engine dev team, and a few years back we released a witness node to turn our centralized service into a decentralized one. One of the contracts we got out as soon as we could were Diesel Pools. These are liquidity pools on Hive where anyone on the platform who wants a certain pair to trade against eachother can create that opportunity for the whole universe to use.
Here's the thing though. Having a liquidity pool is fun and all, but if there isn't trading and there isn't liquidity in the pool then it doesn't help anybody all that much. So, my first objective is to get liquidity into these pools. I have two accounts that are hard at work at this already spswhale and hive-engine. As I'm receiving resources from my plots I'm doing my best to fill the pools for you guys to use to trade against.
So, marking this just a day or two after Splinterlands launched Land. 1.75 you can see where the pool stand currently-
I'm now taking essentially every resource that I get and I'm putting them into the pools and helping to build them as soon as humanly possible. You should like this. It means that I'm earning less research and I'll be discovering fewer plots, I'm getting less SPS this way, and so there's more for all of you. Lastly, you'll like it because if there's resources that you need there's going to be pools that are here to help you trade them.
I have it in my mind to trade resources on hive-engine against other assets like sps, hive, and maybe btc/eth. I suspect the main depth to remain on splinterlands.com, but having additional pools on hive-engine allows there to be a lot more fluctuation in price between the different pools and that creates opportunities for arbitrage and there's a lot more active trading. I don't think that's a soon thing, but maybe by the end of the year I'll have some additional ways to trade these resources. Who knows, by then mancer might have new resources for us to trade.
You can help you know. You can add DEC and Resources into the pools. You'll collect value any time they trade. As the liquidity goes up, hopefully we'll see the trading volume go up, and if you have a lot in the pools you may be getting a pretty decent return. But don't just take it from me... the dragon and the sign of this post know what's up.
Lastly, if you're not currently voting for validators please do so. There's lots of good people working on cool projects to help this ecosystem grow and all us working to expand the splinterlands ecosystem appreciate your support shown by voting for validators. You can have up to 10 votes per account, so if you're just voting one account try to find some other good accounts who are helping Splinterlands to find the moon this cycle.
i'll have to see if i'm resource neutral after the next brawl cycle. not much to contribute off my 8 plots.
for every winner there is a loser
Haha - you know what's funny... I was thinking the same thing, just on a smaller scale because I'm a minnow lol
1% woooooooo!
