PTSCAS Acquaintance Party 2025

Every semester, the Student Council holds an Acquaintance Party to welcome the freshmen. After opening remarks and prayer, Ptr. Buan shared a message from Romans 15:5-6. We had dinner and games afterwards.

As we conclude the party, here is the closing remark and prayer of our business manager:

Praise the Lord for the joy in Jesus that we enjoyed tonight. Praise the Lord also for all the talents that God has given you. May you continually use your voice and talents for the honor of God's name.

As we conclude tonight's Acquaintance Fellowship, it is but proper for us to end with God's word and prayer. As Ptr. Buan mentioned, we came from different backgrounds, and so dealing with personality, theological, social, and racial differences isn't easy. However, for us, Christians, overcoming such differences isn't impossible because our God is gracious. If we cannot overcome these differences, it will affect the way we worship Him. Nevertheless, because God is gracious, because He is the giving God, He gives us the ability to endure; He gives us encouragement to overcome our differences. Not only that, He can also give us the same attitude of mind that Christ Jesus had so that we can glorify Him with one voice and one mind.

And then we closed in prayer:

We thank you, Lord for the joy and fun we have tonight. We thank you for giving us the ability to overcome our differences by the power of your grace. We thank you for endurance, encouragement, and for giving us the same attitude of the mind that your Son had. Dismiss us with your love and presence.
