Well, it's not totally wrong to spend money on things that make you happy, depending on what actually makes you happy.

Let's say sitting out with friends, going vacation, buying stuff for yourself, taking care of the needy ones, spending your money on purposeful things make you happy and you have the money, you know for sure that after the spending, you'd not need to borrow or beg to survive, then it's okay.

The problem is if you're trying to impress or compete rather than being truly happy, or you're using the money recklessly, without budget, savings, or without even investing.

Except you're living an irresponsible lifestyle, which is not the case in this discussion. If you're a responsible person, and like spending on things that make you happy, it's not wrong. Like I said except you're spending on irresponsible lifestyle. If clubbing makes you happy, I'm not in support, if having more than one woman makes you happy, I'm not in support, if being an alcoholic makes you happy, I'm not in support, just name it. And then as a woman if it's only hairs sold at 1.somthing M that makes you happy, even when you know you're not earning something close to that, then that happiness is way too expensive.

After all is said, I would like to add that, if I have money, I will buy things that actually excite me, things I have been hoping to get for myself or do for myself but haven't gotten them due to financial constraints. I will get all of it. But I won't live above my earnings, that is, I won't buy things or do things that are way above my income.

Again, their personal life is my business, and it's my responsibility to always tell them when they're going in the wrong direction. Competition and impression shouldn't be the reason you're spending, it should be that you really need what you're spending on and should be be that you're spending on it because it make you happy.
