I am waiting another ten minutes for this update to finish on Epic Games. This time of year is October and for those who love it, Halloween begins October 1st and is a Season. On Fortnite, the weeks before Halloween have become a demon horde rush battle to fight back the darkness. In Battle Royale usually there are some dead-zones where horde monsters emerge and often there are Boss opponent NPCs that can or must be fought, before dropping loot.
Seven minutes left on the update for Unreal Editor for Fortnite, where I can create my own maps and submit them. Lately I have not been keeping up on it, but in the back of my mind I have lots of ideas turning. My goal for 2026 is to keep writing and focus on the present.
Deliberately thinking about things and making lists, keeping track of all my expenses, and writing. In addition I had decided already that my focus needs to be on creating art. That and doing chores. I've got a bucket of clay dust and some formed-clay sculptures, sitting in my closet floor, and has been for quite a while. I also have this box of paints and need to use them. There must be some canvas around here somewhere.
How much time will it take for me to sit and create a masterpiece?
How many hours will I labour on it, and will it hang somewhere?
Physical art, like real paintings. Working with Clay has been interesting, sculpting clay is definitely a new experience. I am sure in the beginning we have all just given up and let the clay harden into a hand-print ball, wondering, what now? But I recall when I had my bowl and water and cicular workspace tray out. In those moments when I was working with the clay, my attention, and my hands, were fully immersed in the mess of it. And when you're in the mess you want to get out. Fight that urge to stop what you are doing and get back to comfort, because it allow space for growth. The last painting I created, is hanging on my wall.
I thought, well I guess it's done. But when I look at it, I see, yeah that is sort of my dream. But it is also not finished. I could add to it, probably. Not sure what I would add, if I decided to start painting over it, but I may as well try to paint a new painting and see where that goes.
