Happy New Year To You Hive!!

(edited)

I have to go soon, I have chicken in the oven for 35 minutes and then I have to go right out the door, so I am going to drink this coffee and write a post quickly before I leave.

The New Year is almost here! Less than 2 hours left until 2026. This year I successfully practiced my new weekly receipt tracking method, and for every single day that I made transactions, they have been double recorded. That means starting tomorrow, I will have not only a complete record of 2025 (and I understand it because I lived it and I recorded it after the fact) but a budget estimate, for 2026. How much will I spend? Less! That is the plan anyhow. I will compare each day, to the previous year, and attempt to spend less whenever possible.

I am being completely honest about my expenses, something most people don't do. They only keep track of some things, ignore the rest, and hope that tomorrow they can afford what they spent yesterday. I now have a complete snapshot of my year; my transactions, the businesses I support, the time of day when I spend, and of course whether it was cash, debit or card.

I have more debt than I did last year at this time, but I feel like I am more prepared this year for it. Where there was uncertainty and stress last year, now there is confidence and a plan. I know what I need to do, and as long as I keep doing the right things then I will reach my goals. I have my eye on my interest, I know exactly how much I owe, and I know how much I will pay to clear it.

This year I plan to make more art, and write more, and work on my communication skills. I want to be more present during conversations and really connect with people I interact with each day. Sometimes we only meet someone for a moment, and will never ever see them again. Think about that, it might be the last time you see someone when you meet them for the first time.

All we have are the moments we make each day, so smile and let the sunshine in.

I don't have much time, like I said, but I wanted to wish every Hivver on here a happy and successful new year! Make it count. What will you accomplish this year? What will you do with 2026?
