Beyond The Law 1968

(edited)

Last summer I began detailing some of the films I have been watching-- mainly Westerns like The Dollars Trilogy, Hang Em High, Days of Wrath, One Eyed Jacks, & Dirty Fifteen but also others like The Shape Of Things To Come, John Wick & Wise Guy. I haven't written about EVERY film or show I have watched this past year, but I will continue blogging about the good ones.

I watched A Fist Full Of Dynamite last summer sometime, which introduced me to the actor James Coburn, who happened to be in quite a few of these classic western films. I really enjoyed this one!

I think I am mixing up Lee Van Cleef who was in The Magnificent Seven, with James Coburn, but they are both excellent actors worth appreciating during this dark age of cinema we are in.

So just now I am watching this Short on YouTube with Edward Nortion, and he is asked about Steven Segal. He Mentions "Above The Law" which when I search on Tubi, only two films called Beyond The Law show up. One is the former, and the other another with Steven Segal!

Google shows me Above The Law 1988, but it's not on Tubi,

Ok so lets start with the first one from 1978.

As the film begins to roll we see a Purple sunset, and a wagon in the distance. The camera pans as the Cast names appear on screen. The grainy film and long shot show personality and takes are a testament to the rugged difficulty of making a movie in those days.

The preacher reads from his good book,
"And god has written his law with the lighting and the thunder,

and you will not go outside of the law."

All Italian credits. Riding down a valley road they are stopped by a Hitchhiker.

Oh no! It looks like a trap.

At the Saloon, meet Lola!

What happens next?

Watch this with me, and leave comments below.
Is this the same story as the ones with Steven Segal?

I will find out in time.
