Colors of life

The sight of the colorful square
and the mild scent
with straws near the end
that wipe away the dust
childhood is full of colors and smells
that keep a child fascinated
the new books full of stories
the classrooms filled with laughter and fun
new uniforms that speak of a new year
and the excitement to learn new things
new teachers, new friends, and competitions to enter
school life is the best when we look back
but alas we did not realize it then
treasures do not mean precious stones or wealth
memories of such a life are indeed treasures
there may have been bad moments
but it gets erased with time
and as we all grow up
we realize that golden times have passed us by
