Today is National Roasted Chestnuts day.
It seems like it was just yesterday that I was writing here on ProofofBrain.blog about the very 1st time I tried a Roasted Chestnut …
It was in Rome.
A street vendor in Trastevere or maybe Piazza Navona, or maybe it was near the Spanish Steps ??? …. I was a student there and it was December. The streets were lit with Christmas lights and it was cold and raining. I missed the snow back in Canada. But I noticed everyone had these paper bags with Roasted Chestnuts and I had to try some….
They were warm, soft and delicious.
It was a great memory of my 1st Christmas in Rome.
Do you remember your 1st Roasted Chestnut ?
Was it over an open fire at Christmas ?
