In my day I had more issues with teachers who were bullies, but most were dedicated people. Maybe a lot of them are more 'liberal' (or woke or whatever) than average, but it's not an easy job and we need to encourage kids to be good to others. Kids can be really nasty to anyone who is 'different' so we need more tolerance. If that's woke then I'm all for it.

Teachers do typically lean towards the left because they are usually in a union and those two typically go hand in hand. In addition to that, the right usually tends to want to defund the public school system in favor of a voucher system, which would lead to class and other forms of segregation, so in light of losing their livelihood they also tend to lead left. I know a lot of conservative teachers too though.
