Journey To Hometown 1

I am leaving for Kutoarjo by bus from Bekasi bus station at 5:07. The bus is mostly empty; there are only about 7 to 9 passengers.

The bus moves slowly. It is stopping at another bus stop to pick up more passengers.

The fare is expensive—180,000 rupiah or $11.

I look out the window and see traffic and buildings. The trip is not very enjoyable. I am going to visit my mom, who is sick. The trip could take up to 8 hours.

The bus stops, and some peddlers and street singers enter. They offer snacks and sing street songs.

It is 5:53 p.m. when I arrive at Cibitung pool station. More passengers board here, and the seats are almost full.

I arrive in Subang. The bus stops, and all passengers get dinner, showing a barcode at a restaurant. After 30 minutes, the bus departs. Everyone returns to their seats.

At 1 a.m., the bus arrives in Wangon Cilacap. The trip will take about 2 more hours to reach my hometown.

The bus is cold due to the AC, and I start to cough. I am not accustomed to the cold air, which makes me uncomfortable. Despite feeling unwell, I try to sleep, hoping to rest during the long journey. The chilly atmosphere affects me, but I manage to close my eyes and relax.
