There's a weird shift going on in Crypto right now.

new narrative.png

Do you feel it? Maybe it's just me.

I've been watching a lot of tech podcasts as of late, mostly from those that have been frontrunning projects in the ethereum and polygon ecosystem. I've also been watching what @starkerz and dan have been up to in their spaces also.

There's an interesting move towards adoption coming in and it's what I, maybe you have too, been waiting for.

What we're all missing though is community.

Hive is a great place for community; we have it, there are little nuggets of people spread all over hive with their interests firmly focused on their own personal goals and the projects they are in.

I'd also like to think that us on hive have a wider vision too - one that's geared towards mass adoption and onboarding the masses.

What crypto on the whole is missing though is what will they do when they get here?

That's the key issue here.

We seem to have created a "giant casino" in the ecosystems all over; hive perhaps being one of the safer, more boomer "slow and steady gains" options -- but if you look at us on the whole we are all focused on the money.

Any new app we build or make is essentially something firmly focused on rewards and such.

But let me be clear there's nothing wrong with that, I mean we all joined because we wanted a piece of that pie. I'm totally no different in that.

But what about the masses? What about the people that use Facebook or X and don't care a shit about rewards? What about the people that are happy just to write and aren't really focused on the money but more so the comments and interests their thoughts gather?

What about the millions of gamers that enjoy their survival games and a card battler (which is all we seem to have in this space right now, kudos to @cryptoshots.nft for trying to buck that trend) doesn't quite cut the mustard.

So we onboard the masses. What then? How do we hold their attention?

If gambling at a Casino wasn't really worth their while last bull run and the aftermath that followed I doubt this time will make it any much better.

They're just not interested. And crypto has lost any of the early access vibes it used to have.

So we focus on the community - it's perhaps why I am pivoting a little in my messaging.

Of course the rewards will be the same, and of course I do still plan to deliver a first rate service for all of my tokens now and in the future -- but when it comes to messaging and the people we are trying to onboard then the rewards and the token price and all of that stuff needs to be secondary.

People need to come into crypto and not really know that they are in crypto until they are neck deep in a good wholesome community with fun stuff -- whether that's gaming, or blogging, or silver stacking, or whatever.

I'm sensing from the thought leaders in this industry is that is the way we are pivoting. Community first, crypto second.

If you look at the way web2 is set up then you need to reach a certain level in whatever ecosystem you are in before you can even think of rewards. So it's generally set up for enjoyment and fun first, and then rewards afterwards.

Of course I still think there should be rewards at inception, let's not pivot too hard away from the original financial abundance that crypto initially started on - but we can make it a secondary enjoyable surprise.

I say it like this because there have been plenty of people that have joined the BRO community not really understanding what we were about, and we made them welcome and had them having fun -- in 24 hours they were buying up 400 BRO in a one-shot.

Customer service and people first, then money as an afterthought. This is the way we will be moving to next.

Crypto will act as an underlayer to whatever app is built. It will be secondary to whatever the user is doing (or working on online).

Will this bring financial freedom? Well, too early to tell. But it will create a massive whole new wealth system with a lot more people who have money than they don't.

It's definitely an interesting era we are headed into.

And final thoughts for @enginewitty - I think you won't need to find the industry for your Nism game, I think the industry will come to you with the way we are headed.

But, that's all for now.

I hope everyone has a pleasant day!

Hear, here my man. That is the same sentiment I have about #nism and as for onboarding? Onboarding them to what, exactly? Sure, numbers are great, and there are a few things in place to help the noobs, but they aren't coordinated. More unity in our own overall community is needed imo before we can really do a massive wave of anything. Appreciate the drop mayn !PIMP !hiqvote !DUO

I'm not going for unity this time around. We were hive leaders in unity and look what happened to us? As soon as some trouble formed everyone scarpered for the hills.

That wasn't a dig at you by the way, because I hold no ill will there, but as someone who is a complete pro at building communities and fostering unity -- you'll never be able to do it.

I'm building for community this year - I'm not even sure if we'll stay on hive. Mainly because this next wave that's coming will literally cancel out the money, and all that will be left will be Utility.

I say it because of this. AI money making is coming soon -- so what exactly does hive offer me if I can have AI work my money for me and grow it, then why do I need hive? Why not go back elsewhere where the audience is?

Psst, I probably won't -- but these are questions our leaders really must figure out before it's too late.

The next wave will all be about UX. It's coming my friend :)

Already here my dude. Was a big smack down on the person that made the bot too. Now several have. But I agree, automation is coming quickly.

kudos to @cryptoshots.nft

Thank you for the mention! 🤠

And I agree, community is key.

That's also why we aim to build something fun first, with crypto as the bonus, hoping to draw in gamers who’ll stay for the experience.
