One thing that's really standing out for me as of late is how negative the media and alternative media is on the whole.
If I didn't touch grass every so often I'd think the world was about to swallow me whole.
Maybe six months ago you would find me watching twitter fights and following the latest trends on Facebook, but since I've had a perspective reboot I'm noticing that everything is doom and gloom.
Like everything on media right now -- it's all arguing and getting mad and ripping apart your fellow human.
I'm still trying to work out if that is by design, or if it is because we are hurting right now and it's our natural state.
Go look for yourself. Look at all the trending posts out there that aren't just funny meme's. Does it fill you with joy? Or make you angry?
I'm siding with both. That the world is hurting, and some of it is by design.
I mean think of it realistically. Homes are unaffordable to those that have none, the cost of living has shot up at least 4x in the last four years, and wages everywhere have stagnated.
People are quite rightly angry.
Yeah, demoralized is probably a good word.
In times of hardship we need the media to have a "we are going to get through this attitude" -- where they're telling stories of hope in times of absolute despair.
Think of films like The Shawshank Redemption and Braveheart.
But there is none, nothing.
We're shovel fed a load of men are bad, white men are bad -- and preached at like we are cruel animals to be tamed.
Weary of this dialogue we then escape to the internet on X, where speech should be free, only to be told the opposite of what's being told in the media.
There is no middle ground. Where we accept and admire our differences.
And, there are no stories of hope, triumph, the little guy winning over all odds. No David and Goliath moment. That's how trump won. He painted himself as David, and the state as Goliath.
After 10 years of numb negativity? It's perhaps the first story of triumph over all odds I have heard of in a long time.
Where are all the greats about overcoming unsurmountable odds and death defying trials to mould our hero into the person that they are today?
I wonder if that's just how people are feeling right now.
Who knows?
But one thing I'm really noticing is that this alternative media we seem to promote so much isn't really any different to the standard media. It just promotes a different style of anger.
Aimed at the same place.
And it's because attention right now is perhaps the most valuable possession in your arsenal right now.
Forget charts, forget dips, and pumps, and raw markets.
The most valuable thing you own right now is what you decide to concentrate on.
Imagine if 500 people suddenly decided to put their eyes on BRO -- that's valuable. Very valuable.
We talk about utility here on hive but attention is 100 times more valuable than any utility could be. That's why tokens with zero utility pump insanely.
Because they get the right attention.
And right now we're all competing for people's attention. Even I'm right now competing for your attention.
And what garners attention like nothing else I've ever seen before?
Yes, it's wired in our primal animal instincts for when we had to be aware of upcoming threats and dangers because the world 100,000 years ago was brutal.
But we haven't changed, we're still those same animals we were when we were fighting the Lions to feed our communities.
Negativity is like a sure fire way to inject a talking and sharing frenzy around the world.
But you know what's 100,000x more powerful than negativity?
Yeah, that's probably why we're all demoralized right now
Because hope is dangerous. Hope can topple long standing institutions.
So I'm going to buck that trend over the next few months. I'm going to be injecting a good bit of hope into our communities.
Because there are insanely good things coming to us over the next year. In two years we're going to look like a completely different project.
And I'm taking you all along for the ride.
Buckle up people, because this ride is going to get fun very soon.
