It's funny how your taste changes with your age.
At 10 I was watching cartoons like Thundercats and dogtanian. I would imagine that I was the valiant hero, hard pressed against all the odds to save the day. I'd also watch funnies like the muppets, and sci fi thrills like The Flight of the Navigator.
At 18 it was a different kettle of fish. At that age I was watching crime thrillers, imagining that I was the underdog mafia crime lord. You'd see me head deep in sci fi flicks like Stargate SG1 and Atlantis, and by that I was partial to a bit of historical romance.
30's was a weird decade for me. I completely went off off the wall action films and went for the more realistic thriller gritty type. You know, one that was well acted, had depth to it, and didn't seem like the violence and hard action was airbrushed in. By now I was deeply fond of just.. a good story. That's all that mattered.
Now, in my 40's, my tastes have changed again -- as has the way we consume media. Now I'm mostly about survival stuff and gun totting videos on youtube.
Let me share some of the good videos I've been watching as of late.
I really love The Slowmo guys.
Recently, the bigger the gun, the better.
I've never shot a gun before, but watching that -- the power it generates has me in awe. Their channel is full of that stuff. Slow motion power.
Next I've been watching Rick Shiels Golf
I enjoy watching this stuff -- mainly because I would have been a pro golfer had my life not taken a dramatic turn when I was 16. I was playing in all the top competitions and headed to good places.
So I watch his channel because he plays all the crazy golf courses around the world and I get to experience what I'm missing through him.
In another life I'd probably have been up there with the greats if I had applied myself, but it wasn't to be.
I've also been watching Ballistic High Speed as of late:
These guys shoot stuff and slow the motion down to a tiny fraction of the speed, so you get to see the destruction of guns and explosives. It's really quite scary, but also interesting as well.
I've been really enjoying these guys as of late.
And last but not least, how can I not forget my favourite Alaskan wilderness guy -- the Outdoor boys.
I've talked to many guys in the cave and a lot of them watch this guy:
Came across his videos at the beginning of the year and haven't been able to put them down.
Anyway, that's it for my list.
What about you?
Got a list of manly stuff you like to watch? :)
As we grow older, our interests, hobbies, and things we are fond of can easily change. When I was a kid, I used to watch various kids movies, superheroes, magic, and all the sci-fi things you can think of. I still remember, I tend to imagine myself with some inhumane like powers in my fists, there are times I imagined myself having wings, and sometimes levitate things around me. As I grow older, that change. I now used to watch movies that often happens in reality. I watched blogs, motivational stories, improving myself, and a lot more. As expected, when I reach adulthood that would change. Change is inevitable, maybe that's the whole point haha.
The more stages we find ourselves the more we begin to see other aspect of life and hobbies.
