So if you sit in my community then you know I've found the secret to growth on twitter. And I'm experiencing a lot of growth -- like a tremendous amount of growth.
One thing that this last month has taught me is the need for external revenue if we want to survive the long term as a business, a project, a community, and somewhat a presence on hive.
The recent culling of L2 wasn't a huge barrier on us but it made me aware how vulnerable we are, and will be in the future. For example someone can just come on here, decide they don't like us and downvote us into oblivion -- and there's nothing I can do to counteract that in the slightest.
If someone did this then yes, it would seriously effect our revenue stream and how I'm able to pay divs to users and keep the balances afloat every month.
This is why going forward external revenue is going to be a big thing for our project, and I'm going to build several of them.
I've already started with twitter. Whilst not monetized yet we are well on the way to monetization. I should expect middle next month (or by June time) for us to be starting with the very first paycheque from them. That's my target anyway.
This week, so far, I've had 632,000 impressions. My target is (to get monetized) 384,615 impressions per week, so we are already crushing that.
Next week I will aim for 1 Million.
I also have to get 500 verified followers and I am currently sitting at around 230. This one may be a little harder to reach, but time will tell.
Anything I make from twitter will go straight into the business to buying up tokens and filling out liquidity and sustaining revenue. I expect my stats to be way higher when we reach monetization so we may be in for a payday surprise.
We'll see, anyway.
As my account grows I'll be looking at lead capture. When I did this in the old days I know how hard this was; you could get yourself 20,000 reads, but perhaps only 100 would click on the link and maybe 1 would buy the product.
So I'll be looking to filter growth into our discord where people that come in will have some easy accessible ways to level themselves up, earn some crypto, and get involved in some kickass personality building schemes that are gated behind the amount of tokens they own.
This will all take time to build and I will do that as we slowly gain traction on twitter. Also a few community members have expressed their intention of being part of this build so we'll see where it takes us.
Also, I am involved with one or two other projects off Hive -- one of them is supposedly dropping soon, so this might invigorate where we're headed in the future for sure.
So right now we may have a bit of short term pain ahead of us, but I'm not sitting on my fingers letting it consume me. I'm grinding hard on twitter, and in other places to build some form of external revenue for the future.
Peace!
Ain't twitter dying with #tesla ?
Strange how all the audience is on centrised platforms.
Is humanity doomed ?
As for the downvote risk on hive, thats a deal breaker. Not an investable project in that regard.
Blurt was launched for this reason, but how are they dking ?
Seems to be good traction, but maybe not enough just yet.
Huge gap in the market for a true decentralised social media / blogging platform

Noo, twitter is thriving my guy.
Not having a downvote option then you pave the way for abuse and spam.
Hmmm
The banned and deleted my main account
Yeah thats one thing that can happen on Hive, thats why some have opted to do layer ontop of regular Hive because tech is still awesome.
But I hope you dont have exit plans from Hive?
No, no exit plans. We will have to go multiple revenue streams though -- which might mean that we are more multichain.
Thats a smart move! 👏👏
Glad also that you are staying :)

Seems like the plan to monetise on Social media is going well step by step i mean
But with branching out to other revenue streams it can be hit and miss and all of them require a fair bit of work
Yup, they do - that's why I'm working hard daily to hit those goals :)
Everyone have their own place, it's where their forte meet and suitable with the environment
It explains why some people thrive in one place but fail in other, regardless which place is better
