While I was playing around with different programming languages and testing the limits of Google AI Studio in a somewhat whimsical way, I ended up creating a melody. At first, I only wanted a small background soundtrack for my programmable experiment — something simple, atmospheric, just a “test.”
But the track I received, created with the help of Gemini (through the Lira 3 module) and a bit of input from my mischievous Copilot, hit me instantly. “A Borrowed Land” turned out far better than I expected. So good that I immediately said: yes, this track cannot remain hidden inside my code editor. It needs to be published. It needs to breathe. It needs to be heard.
A Borrowed Land is an atmospheric piece created in collaboration with AI, exploring themes of hidden power and silent identity. The repeated lines — “the crown of the peak,” “a king in the shadows,” “too proud to speak” — build a strong image: a king who never reveals himself, a borrowed world, a destiny pressing down without explanation.
The melody carries a solemn, almost ritualistic tone. The repetition is intentional: it creates an incantation-like effect, as if the track were a fragment of a larger universe, a story whispered rather than told. It’s the kind of soundtrack that could open a game, a film, or a narrative project — an introduction to a character who wears a crown he never asked for.
“A Borrowed Land” is not just a song; it’s an atmosphere. A world where power is expressed through silence, not words. A world where a “king in the shadows” carries his burden without explaining it.
So I uploaded it to YouTube.
Not for hype, not for likes, but because sometimes an experiment becomes art without you planning it.
