While playing Moon Karts, I noticed something very important: Driving isn't the only way to win a race. The cards you take to the track have a very powerful effect, as many give you a significant advantage. However, the card that caught my attention the most, and for me, the game's defining feature, was the Lunar Bolt card.
Lunar Bolt isn't just any ordinary card. It lets you send down lightning from the sky, striking a specific opponent's car in the middle of the race. As soon as you activate it, you see a sudden lightning bolt strike your chosen kart, causing them to lose control of their car and slow down significantly. This means you can turn the entire race around in one shot if you use it correctly.
It's not just about hitting and doing it right as the skill lies in knowing how to choose the right target at the right time. For example, if someone is slightly ahead of you and their face is directly in front of the finish line, and you activate the kart on them, you'll likely stall them and pass them before they can finish! Or if an opponent is outpacing you in a race, you can stop them and take a break.
Personally, I've come to love Lunar Bolt. Sometimes you find yourself sandwiched between several racers, activating the kart on one, letting the others hit him, and then finding yourself out in front.
What I like most is that the kart isn't easy to use, so you have to be smart about how you use it. That means don't attack the first person you see; save the kart for opportunities that can win you the race or at least ward off a threat that would otherwise threaten your position.
In short, Lunar Bolt is one of the most powerful and dangerous power-ups in the game, and anyone who knows how to use it correctly can completely control the course of the race.
