Aiming for equality in diversity

source

Life is unfair is a common phrase I grew up hearing people say around me, on tv or radio, I never really grasped the exact meaning then, but with time, growing up and becoming an adult myself I knew and experienced why a lot of people made that statement, I have even found myself utter same, especially in situations that I feel really cheated.

Do I feel everyone is created equal? And why?

The holy book made us understand that we are all equal before God, but are we really are? My answer is No, don't get me wrong, mother nature tried to make us equal by making sure we all are given the same effect from nature, no one has special treatment but still some abilities we process individually make us different. If we were equal, we won't be having so many people fighting and clamoring for equality rights today, right from birth, there is always an advantage of one child over the other, examples can be in the form of a child born into a wealthy background, he/she already has an advantage over a child born into a poor one, what about those born with some certain disabilities? The ability to function at the same rate as children born without disabilities cannot be the same, they were created to be the same, but the moment they land on earth, classes, talents/potentials, background, and even gender becomes an issue in which they become classified.

What can be done to make us equals?

1 Helping one another

The moment it becomes a top priority for everybody to assist people around them, irrespective of the class you belong, as long as you are in a position to raise your neighbor and likewise same is done for you by someone above you, the world would move towards equality, this also refers to countries helping one another, sharing ideas with neighboring countries instead of trying to take control over them.

2 For gender inequality

Women should be given access to more roles in society, and some jobs or political positions shouldn't be just meant for a particular gender, after all, women have proven over the years to best whatever is laid in their hands to do even doing better than most make counterparts in their fields.

3 The government consideration

In my state of residence, there is a division of class in the state, the low and middle class are considered to stay on the mainland, while the high-class people in the society stay on the island, which is more equipped with better roads, fancy houses and generally just a fresher atmosphere, what if the whole state had that, the government making sure that we all enjoy the same better roads, electricity, clean and fresh environment for everyone, furthermore, no cutting corners when hunting for a job, you don't need to have any connection or know anybody to be given the job you are qualified for. If all these are out in place, the world starting with my country as a focus will push towards a more equal society.

Finally, there is a saying I love so much, which states: "Fear nobody, respect everybody" think about it deeply if we all had this while treating one another, won't we all be living in an equal society?

A lot of things can be done so everyone can be equal but those things are overlooked. Your approach to the topic is the best.
