Today was the day to check out the DIY Skate Obstacles Workshop, a unique event led by none other than Marcelo Marbal.
For me, Marbal is not just a skater, he is the skater. It's impossible to separate his essence from skate culture. The guy turns every session into art, with energy and authenticity that few can match. If there’s anyone who represents the soul of skateboarding, it’s Marbal.
The day started with heavy rain, but by luck or fate, the weather gave us a break right when the event began. It was like skateboarding had the power to control the weather. The vibe was amazing, with people sharing ideas and putting creativity into action while building the obstacles.
However, as skateboarding also comes with its challenges, I made a mistake: I rushed out the door and forgot the dummy battery that powers the camera. The result? I had to deal with limited battery time, which only allowed me to capture a few images.
Even so, it was a special day. The opportunity to be there, feel the energy of the event, and pay tribute to Marbal’s work made it all worth it. The rain stopped, but the passion for skateboarding never does.
I hope you enjoy these videos as much as I enjoyed filming them, and that you share the links with other skate lovers!
I thank those who have followed this story so far. I hope you enjoy the upcoming publications. To "give a moral," please share!
