Today we have Max Penot, originally from Nogent le Rotrou, a small town in France. Max is one of the most carioca (as we say here in Rio) French guys I know!
He showed up at Praça XV speaking a fun version of Carioca Portuguese, but his true language was expressed through his skate tricks. The following year, he returned to Rio with a more refined accent, ready to earn the title of "Cariocão." He’s a really cool guy, always bringing good vibes, and I’m very happy to have completed this project that represents the true spirit of camaraderie and partnership in skateboarding.
Max started skating six years ago at the age of 15, and his passion for the sport has only grown.
When I asked him what he thinks about the skateboarding movement and the cities he has visited around the world, he enthusiastically replied, "I think the movement is really good! The skaters in every city I’ve visited have always been very friendly and open! They’re easygoing and really nice people."
For Max, the essence of skateboarding goes beyond the tricks; it's about connecting with people and the culture that unites skaters around the world. As he puts it, "Skateboarding is Fodaaaaa!" It’s inspiring to see how skateboarding can create bonds between people from different cultures.
I hope you enjoy these videos as much as I enjoyed filming them, and that you share the links with other skate lovers!
I thank those who have followed this story so far. I hope you enjoy the upcoming publications. To "give a moral," please share!
