A Recap of HiveSL's First Charity Initiative

Hi All,
We decided to initiate Hive-based charity work in Sri Lanka on September 14, 2023 (14/09/2023). We began by using 50% of the author rewards generated through @tonull and @sptlands.daily accounts, as well as 10% of the revenue generated for @theguruasia via the uswap.app bridge revenue.

We successfully achieved our first goal of donating four school bags and two pairs of school shoes during that round. Below, you can find a detailed financial update on how we utilized the donated Hive rewards during that period.

Transactions & Other Related Data

We made a withdrawal of 78.670 HBD on January 24, 2024 (24/01/2024) to purchase four school bags and two pairs of school shoes for four needy children.

During this round of donation, we collected 78.670 HBD. We had to convert them to HIVE, then convert again to USDT, and finally received LKR (Sri Lankan Rupee) via the Binance P2P services. Here you can find transactions and other related data.

Purchase Shoes

We used an additional 6,638 LKR to purchase two pairs of school shoes. Unfortunately, we didn't take photos of these pairs because we arranged to meet the father of the children at the DSI showroom in Elpitiya. Unlike school bags, we weren't sure about their shoe sizes, so we thought it best for them to choose their preferred pairs themselves.

Taking photos in the showroom might have made others uncomfortable, so we refrained from doing so. The only proof of payment we have is the debit card receipt (we didn't keep the payment bill, as it has a warranty for the shoes).

In addition to the shoes, we also bought two pairs of socks for them. With this round of donation via hivesl, powered by Hive authorship rewards and supported by the HELIOS & UPME projects, and Uswap bridge revenue, our efforts have been successfully completed.

We have excess funds of 6,118.62 LKR for the next donation round, and we are collecting authorship rewards, curation rewards, token rewards, and swap bridge revenue to fund our next charity initiative. Specifically, we are gathering authorship rewards from @tonull and @sptlands.daily accounts for this purpose.
