Two Years Ago Today (2024-03-11)

It was a brisk but yet inviting morning. I had a nice steaming cup of coffee and to go with it a hardy breakfast. The date is 2024-03-11 and I have my favorite blockchain game known as Splinterlands on my mind. With breakfast out of the way I clean up and get ready for the events of the day. I still have some coffee left in my oversized cup and now my laptop is in-front of me. Directly to the Hive Blockchain I go. First some reading material before we kick ass in a Splinterlands ranked battle or two. Manually typing in the handles of those I interact with the most on the Hive blockchain is my first stop for my morning intake of created content. My feed/ trending/ hot and the new section of Hive would be my next virtual stops. As many others likely do, that has intertwined themselves within the Hive community, after some reading - checking the current trade value of the Hive Token is high priority. Look at that we are near 8% in the green with the 24hr volume being +129%. The Hive Token itself is worth $0.4864 per token. Lets Go - what a great morning thus far!

As we step back into present day I sit on my couch this morning. The days elements not unlike it was two years ago. My actions however much different. There is no cup of coffee or even breakfast (Yet). There is a little here who I routinely call my partner in crime that had a fun appointment to get to that was almost missed because I almost - well did sleep in. We got her there on time but only because of her speedy get ready skills. After getting the little where she needs to go I reach for my laptop. I got some time to create a blog post before my day begins so lets get to it. I contemplate purchasing an alarm clock. Currently and always I have been able to set an internal clock to wake up when I need to. Recently I been fumbling that ability more times than I would like to but meh, lets continue with the day and give that more thought later.

Wait a minute... what is that I see that I have saved, is that - it is! Screenshots of the USD price of the Hive Token from two years ago. Dang near 50 cents lets take a look at today's USD value of the Hive Token. Today's date is 2026-03-11 and the Hive Token is currently valued at $0.06282. The Hive Tokens 24hr volume stands at 2.23 million (+11%). As I type that out I'm slightly at a loss for words. That is a massive dip - there simply is no way to sugarcoat that underlining fact. Its not just Hive that is dipping. Its not just cryptocurrency land that is being hit. The worlds inflation/ housing issues - not to mention ongoing wars has turned the brick and mortar world into a big dip within itself without a short-term fix.

If only that MANA well worked well enough to zip the Hive Token price back to its 2024 USD value. As good as the Splinterlands team is not even they have solved real-world time travel. Maybe they will do that next week but for now they got their hands full with Splinterlands related stuff :) I can hear the Splinterlands community now: When time travel? Answer: Soon. The plus side to a dipping token is accumulation. The Hive token is much easier to collect and hoard when prices are dipping so I recommend doing that. Create content -> Fill your bags -> Don't focus on price -> Instead focus on everything else this awesome blockchain has to offer. +Never invest what you can't afford to lose.
