Guilt Free Spending

I received a message where someone asked that he is in early 30 and have saved around 70 Lakhs but still not happy. He is not happy because his spending is still in lower middle class, he has to think multiple time before spending on himself or even for his family. He said he is saving for more than 8 years and though the wealth building is small but he has not able to enjoy his earnings.

Now to be honest, that guy is in very good position. Because 70 lakhs in early 30s is quite a achievement and if he continues to invest he might retire in his 40s. But let's understand that why he feels this way. Actually he is continously saving even though he is earning well, he is not spending on himself. And because of that this quitesuon comes up. To be honest, I don't feel we should only save and save and not spend on ourselves.

There should be a guilty fund every month that means that fund if you spend there shouldn't be any guilt. It can be used to pamper yourself, getting gadget for yourself, travelling and what not. This should be used on yourself no matter what. Now this can be 10% or 20% depending on yourself. But it should not go beyond that and you should use all the fund and the main thing is that you should enjoy with that fund.

We all work hard so that we can save for later. But who knows about tomorrow, also there is no one who can help us tomorrow. So we have to balance the present and future. And that's why enjoying today and saving for tomorrow both should go hand in hand. Even if you have to work for 5 more years for retirement, enjoying in your 20s should be the priority.
