Fellow Scholars and Scribes! I bid you welcome to the third annual SCRIBE SPOTLIGHT! π mosh pit ensues π
Each year we take a month to celebrate and commemorate our most diligent and talented authors. πΊ
The astute among you would've seen this one coming from a mile away. One of our brightest Scribes, her work speaks for itself. Active, prolific, consistent. Her quality as an author is evident to whoever reads her work. Ladies, gents, and others, I bring to you... π₯π₯π₯
I would classify @jhymi as the mistress of Hive YA fiction. She might disagree with that distinction, but I find the title apt. The way she swipes her quill to create narratives that blend contemporary fiction and relatable characters in a digestible way is nothing if not commendable.
On top of that, her work ethic is off the charts. And whenever she does decide to grace the comment section, she is always a treat. An exemplary Scholar as well as Scribe. Now, let me highlight some of that great writing I was just mentioning.
Speaking of relatable, Just My Luck tells a tale of a gal having one of those days. @jhymi might not concur with my assessment of me classifying her work as YA, but her navel-gazing fits the bill perfectly, in my opinion. We know what this character is about, and we sympathize and love her for it.
This is accomplished from a lot of leg work on Jhymi's part. One of the tools I have to highlight is her vocabulary. Yes, it's cast, but moreover, it is precise. A much harder-to-execute skill. Choosing the right words for the situation is often more challenging than choosing the fanciest, in my experience.
I should have stayed home. I knew it the moment I woke up. I knew it even as I woke up with an excruciating headache and checked the time to see that I had just about twenty minutes if I wanted to make it to the book signing in time. I couldnβt think of a gift my best friend, Marissa, would love more than a signed book from her favourite author. I knew Marissa like I knew myself so I was positive handing her a signed book from her idol, Chimamanda Adichie, would secure me best friend points for life.
Since we had a singular experience with our last story, it's only fitting we explore a couple's tale. All For You is so sweet it might give you a toothache. And I just love how the story ends, leaving the reader in suspense as to the characters' future.
I knew I got the attention of the other two men on the team by the way their eyes lit up at the mention of the world in the palm of their hands. Humans were greedy. And perpetually thirsty for power. Fortunately, I understood that greed and thirst quite well. So, I was going to prey on that.
If anyone is reading this and wants to find a Hive author to study, I highly recommend our girl @jhymi here. I myself have stolen some tricks and am proud of it. This craft of ours is tough, and I applaud J for allowing us a glimpse into her fabulous mind. Thank you for being a part of our community, and I hope we witness even better storytelling in the future. π
Words can't describe how elated I am. It took me a second to realize that YA is Young Adult and I think that's an apt description myself.π
What I love is how accurately the Scholar and Scribe family sees into my writing and pushes me to be better every step of the way with heart-warming feedback and authors in the community whose works challenge me to be better at my craft.π
I hope to keep creating charming(for lack of a better expression) stories that leave my audience if not happy, at least to a great degree, sated. Thank you once again for this profound honour. My entire year has been made.π₯°
Congratulations on your well deserved spotlight, Jhymi, the mistress of Hive YA fiction. π

It's crazy how her stories always seem to find their way to my feed, and I think over the last year there's not a single one I've not read. Crazy thing Is they're all so amazing.
At times I wonder if it all just comes to her so easily or she has to put in as much work as such high quality demands.
Well deserved. Congratulations @jhymi π
