Friend or Foe.

You'll never know who is truly for you until you turn your heart bare to them.- Quote by Me.

There was a deep silence after Rebecca finished speaking about her mental warfare and the nightmares.

”So, you can feel your character's emotions, and they can tell you how to end a story, right?” Dr. Robert asked.

”Yes.” Rebecca replied.

”I have to know how it started. Was it always like this? Or was there an incident that made your thoughts turn darker? I know it may be hard to speak about, but if you want to be free from these nightmares, you'll have to speak from your heart.” Dr. Robert spoke calmly.

”I am not comfortable sharing that with you now. Is there a drug or something that can help me feel more relaxed or something. I just need to wake up with a clear head every morning and have a good night's sleep as well.” Rebecca replied.

”But, what about your story? You can't run from it forever. You have to…”

”I think I made a mistake coming here. I have to go.” Rebecca cut in, standing up from the chair she was seated on.

Standing up from his chair, Dr. Robert stopped Rebecca. ”Please, don't leave. I am sorry. I do have a drug that can help, so please take your seat.” Dr. Robert pleaded.

Letting out a deep sigh, Rebecca sat down as Dr. Robert opened his drawer and brought out two dosages of drugs.

”When you are ready to sleep, just chunk down these two drugs. You can come over tomorrow if it works well.” Dr. Robert spoke.

”Thank you. What is the name, and how much is it?” Rebecca asked, opening her purse.

”No. No. This is from me. Let's just say it is a peace offering. Okay? And yeah, the drug name is Benzodiazepines” Dr. Robert replied with a smile.

”I… let me just pay something.” Rebecca said, refusing the offer.

”You said you don't take dinner out. Just see this as the money for dinner. Please, I just want you to be okay. You can pay tomorrow when you come around for the full dose.” Dr. Robert replied.

”Why can't you give me the full medication now? I am not sure I'll be free tomorrow.” Rebecca replied.

”I can't for medical reasons. I need to be sure if these ones will work. So, if you can make time tomorrow, it'd be nice.” Dr. Robert replied.

”Thank you.” Rebecca thanked him before leaving his office.

The moment Rebecca got back home, she had been busy tending to the farm and animals around before taking time to cook. It was noon when she finished working. Taking a shower, she wore a neon knee gown as she decided to explore her surroundings.

She took a walk around nature, moving from one place to another, and also got to watch the moon rise. It was a beautiful sight, and Rebecca wished her day and night would always be as breathtaking as this.

After spending more hours outside her home, Rebecca walked back home and got herself ready to sleep.

She ate, relaxed a bit, and even spoke with Jisoo on the phone before taking her drugs and heading to bed.

Morning came later than usual. Rebecca couldn't believe she slept in. Her body and mind were relaxed, and she couldn't help the smile that filled her face.

”It worked!” she screams internally.

Rebecca began her day with a tune. She didn't know where it originated from, but she sure loves it. Household chores were done, and she prepared herself breakfast to go.

She even made a video call with Jisoo, who reminded her of their movie night, and Rebecca was fully up for it. She noticed Jisoo's face was beaming and couldn't wait to know why she's happy.

Checking her time, Rebecca decided to call Dr. Robert and inform him of her coming. After the call, she got prepared and left home immediately.

A few hours later, Rebecca entered Dr. Robert's office.

”You look shining today.” Dr. Robert commended.

”Yeah, the drug worked miraculously. I am truly thankful.” Rebecca commented.

”I am glad it did. I got the full dosage for you.” Dr. Robert said, handing the small container to Rebecca.

”How long will this last, and how much is it?” Rebecca asked.

“It lasts for 3 days, then you have to stop taking it. Too much of it has a negative side effect.” Dr. Robert advised.

”What if the nightmares come again?” Rebecca questioned.

“That's why I wish you to tell me everything, and you can even share the story with me. I believe facing your fears will help you better than any drug. Taking this drug can turn you into an addict. Before you know it, two dosages will not be enough.” Dr. Robert replied.

“Thank you, but let me worry about that.” Rebecca replied before paying up and leaving for home.

An hour after Rebecca got home and cooked, Jisoo came in.

”Hello, sister.” Jisoo screamed, hugging Rebecca.

”Why are you so happy? What's up?” Rebecca questioned with a smile.

Bringing her fingers closer to Rebecca, Jisoo let out a thrilling sound while nodding her head.

”Wait, what? He proposed?” Rebecca screams, hugging Jisoo tightly.

“Yes, we will be traveling to see my parents tomorrow and discuss the wedding. Get ready, sister, because you have a lot of work on your hands the moment we get back.” Jisoo said with a smile.

”This is good news!” Rebecca beamed.

“But before we go, I made you a bead bracelet.” Jisoo said before bringing out the bead from her purse and placing it on Rebecca's wrist.

“Sisterhood” Rebecca read.

“...and mine read, forever.” Jisoo replied, showing Rebecca her bracelet.

That night, Rebecca couldn't sleep. She thought deeply about the change in Jisoo's life and came to a conclusion.

She needs to face her demons.

Picking up her phone, she called Dr. Robert, and summarized her life's story to him on how she lost her parents and grandma before giving him access to the story that gives her nightmares.

That night was a long one for Rebecca, but after taking the drug, she felt relaxed, and her mind fell into slumber.

The next day, a call from Dr. Robert woke Rebecca from sleep.

“Hello.” she said with a groggy voice.

“Can we meet at my office today? I read your story, and I would like to give my feedback.” Dr. Robert said.

Getting set, Rebecca prepared herself. She wanted to pick up the purse that had the drugs in it but decided to leave it and go with another purse. She walked out of her home, got in her car, and went toward Dr. Robert's office.

The moment she parked her car outside the office gate, she came out and heard someone call her name.

”Hello, Chef.” A familiar voice called.

“Tina! Oh, what are you doing here?” Rebecca asked, exchanging pleasantries with her.

“I came to visit my parents, but I am heading back to work for my shift today.” Tina replied.

“That's nice. It is a pleasure meeting you.” Rebecca spoke before going into Dr. Robert's office.

A minute later, Dr. Robert joined her in his office with a big smile on his face.

”Welcome in, Rebecca. After listening to your story and reading the one you shared with me. I have got to say that your mind intrigues me.” He said with a sly smile.
