WHY IT IS SAFE FOR MY BROILER CHICKENS TO ADAPT WITH THE METHOD OF TOP PILLING NEW LITTER MATERIALS ON THE OLD OR MESSED UP ONES // LIFE OF A LIVESTOCK FARMER.

IMG_20220422_142040_256~2.jpg

Yesterday I adapted a top pilling method by filling top the messed up litter materials with the new litter materials(sawdust). Some people might be thinking this method might not go down well with these already grown broiler chickens. I adapted this method just because I have been lazy these says and busy with some other things outside my business. I have adapted so many trucks just to protect my big birds against heat stress. Some of these tricks or method are:-

  • From baptizing my birds.
  • To wetting my roof top.
  • Withdrawing my birds' feed in the afternoon time till the evening time.
  • Also adding glucose and vitamins into their water shouldn't be excluded and underestimated.

WHY THIS METHOD SUIT THIS GROWN UP BIRDS?

Why I think this method will suit these grown up birds is that, it's simply because they are grown already, that gives them the zeal to withstand any kind of dirt or dirty environment. Because they have now grown, their hormones and body system so withstand this method of top pilling.

NOTE:- This method isn't advisable to be used for underage birds from day old to 6weeks.
