My Journey to Hive || August Progress in Review

The story of how I joined Hive is one that's intriguing and as well fulfilling. I'm intriguing because of the way it happens and fulfilling because writing was my long-forgotten passion that was coupled with my desire to find a stream of income online that I can do at my own time, and it's pleasing to see everything fall into place at the nick of time when I needed it the most. Today I'll be taking you through a delve on how I joined Hive.

It was the year 2021, and I was at a point in my life where I doubted the need for some of the steps I took, regretful yet fulfilling, but was looking for a way to turn things around in my favor without beating around the bush. Prior to the month of November, when I joined the hive blockchain, I had quite my former job 8 months earlier because I wanted to be there for my brother, who was bedridden at the time.

He had been sick and admitted into the hospital since the year 2020, and all I could do was send most of my wages home to fund part of his treatment, but along the lines, I could feel the fact that the length of his duration in the hospital had affected my parents, who stood by him, so I decided I needed to be there in person to relieve them of that stress, so I wouldn't at the end of the day start funding multiple people's treatment when the breakdown from the stress occurred, so I quit my job and started staying by his side at the hospital.

I ended up starting there from February of that year till the following year; most of my savings went down the drain while I was there, and that's probably why I was in the situation I described in the first paragraph. Well, fortunately for me, while contemplating what to do to earn more, I was told about hives by my other brother, although he has an hive account but knows little about it, and so I introduced me to someone else, Monica to be precise.

On the same day, he told me about an online platform where I can write and earn. I immediately contacted the lady he referred me to to show how desperate I was, and we spoke and scheduled a meeting for the next day, which I went to, and she told me about the basic things I needed to know about the hive. I was excited and pleased to see proof of authenticity of the blockchain via her wallet and testimony, which went on to be my inspiration and driving force in my few years on the hive blockchain.

Although at first it was difficult to rediscover my writing passion, probably due to the stress I go through at the hospital on a daily basis, I tried to find a way to write, and with time I became consistent. Even though my first 3 months of content on the hive blockchain were written from the hospital beside my sick brother, looking back, I can't help but be grateful that I found hive because it has played a significant role in most aspects of my life and my achievements thus far, and that's about it on how I joined the hive blockchain.

Also in response to the Augustinleo prompt for today, I'll quickly like to take a quick review of my achievements and progress in this month of August that comes to an end in less than four hours from now. I became the month with great optimism and desire to progress well, and even though I couldn't achieve most of my target for the month, I just still pay myself in the back for where I'm at the moment because it's a testament to my hard work and commitment to grow and keep getting better on the hive blockchain.

Even though I set a goal of getting at least 500 hive power in this month of August, deep within me I knew I wanted more than that because what I achieved wished for within me was to get to 11k hive power this month, and I think having 500 won't take me there, but then I believe that's a realistic possibility based on my previous month's achievement.

Well, it turns out that I wasn't even able to attain 500 hp but was close to it as I was able to add a staggering 476 hp this month, so I believe that's still fulfilling, and I hope the next month will be far better. Also, I'm pleased with my consistency this month, despite falling sick and bothered with many forms of anxiety, yet I still managed to publish a post every single day this month. I'm pleased with this and can't wait for the next month to come so I can chase new dreams.
