Will My Job Exist in 10 Years? I Believe So

(edited)

When I saw this topic I immediately knew my answer. Yes I believe my job as a chef will still exist in the 10 years.

I think people will always need chefs no matter how much technology advances, the reason is simple: everybody eats food, Long as humans exist , food will still be very important, we can have robots and artificial intelligence, people still want good food on their tables.

There are people who don't like cooking, there are people who're too busy to cook, there are people who prefer having someone else prepare their meals.

That alone creates a need for chefs and people in the food industry , Food is more than something we eat to survive, Food is part of celebrations, birthdays, weddings, family gatherings, anniversaries and sad moments and yes Food connects people.

Because of that I don't see the demand disappearing soon at all

Another reason I believe this job will remain , is that people love varieties, They want recipes, different flavors, creative presentations and unique dining experiences, a machine can follow instructions, There is something special about a chef's creativity and personal touch, As a chef there is always room to learn something try new recipes discover new techniques and make familiar meals better, seriously that creativity is why

I also think about baking.

There will always be birthdays
There will always be weddings
There will always be celebrations

People will continue to order cakes for occasions, they will look for skilled people to create those cakes, No matter how advanced technology becomes people still want that human touch when it comes to something made specially for them.

The industry may change over the ten years, Technology might make some parts of the work easier, more people may order food online, new kitchen equipment may be introduced, AI might help with menu planning or recipe suggestions.

None of that removes the need for chefs, I think chefs who are willing to learn and adapt will continue to grow alongside these changes, for me being a chef is not about cooking food, It is about creating something people enjoy, It is about putting smiles on faces when they taste a meal you prepared, It is about turning ingredients into something memorable.

So when people ask me if my job will still exist in ten years my answer is yes.

People will still eat
People will still celebrate
People will still order cakes
People will still want meals

As long as those things exist I believe chefs will have a place, in the future.

I agree no matter how advanced technology becomes people will always appreciate food made with a personal touch. Never thought of AI cooking our foods, haha good points.

Your points are valid. No matter sophisticated technology may be, there'll still be need for a chef. I mean human chef, because not everyone likes their meal prepared by AI

Your services would always be needed even in the five decades, the day the world discards chefs is the day all humans become robots, LOL.
