My first earning/pocket money.

My first earnings/pocket money... I am pleased to share with you how excited I was to receive my first earnings/pocket money. This went right back to when I was in second school, yes! I used to be that person that was mostly broke and also had to look up to friends for snacks during break time. But as time goes on, I got so uncomfortable 😣. Not having money of my own is so stressful, so I began to think of ideas šŸ’”: what can I do to earn myself some pocket money without having to beg anyone? Then suddenly an idea came into my head. How? Ok, in my community locally called Angwa, I noticed that there's no sugarcane seller, hahahah šŸ˜….

I know what you're thinking as well right now, so I noticed nobody was selling sugarcane, and anyone who wished to consume sugarcane would have to trek a far distance to the town just to get a short stick of sugarcane. Now I began to construct a mini table because I had already made up my mind to start selling the sugarcane around my community, but haaa, there's a big problem!! Hahaha The idea was brilliant, yes, but now capital is the main problem. What am I going to do now? I asked myself. Then the following evening I took a walk to a popular sugar cane wholesaler and asked him, "Baba (sir), I want to start selling sugar cane, but I don't have the capital to begin with, but since you knew my elder sister, can you give me a dozen of cane to start with? After I sell out, I will return the capital and keep the profit." Wow!! I didn't know where that courage came from, but I just want to make money, hahahah. But to my greatest surprise, he said, "Yes, that's fine. That's what most of these detailers do. They come and take some dozens of sugar, sell them, and bring my money.

It makes me sell faster," he said. I felt butterflies in my tummy šŸ¤—šŸ˜. "I'm finally going to start a business," I said to myself, but then there's another problem, hahahah 🤣. Yes! I was shy, like, how can this fresh-looking and educated girl be selling sugar cane? Oh my, I paused for a second, but a thought came into my head, and I said, "Those people I am shy of, how much have they given me when I was broke???" Hmm, nothing. That evening I took one tied dozen sugar cane home; the next morning I woke up very early and prepared two sticks of sugar cane and cut them into two sizes, big and small, 50 bucks and 100 bucks. I took it to school to sell. I was still shy, but my profit was more important to me. Surprisingly, out of almost 13 cuts of sugar, 11 were sold out, and 3 were brought home to also sell at the afternoon and evening markets. Business was good. šŸ˜ŠšŸ‘ I was happy; inside my daily sales, I always remove 100 bucks for break-time snacks. It wasn't bad for business at all.

I keep on repeating the process until I sell out the whole dozen, and the whole dozen is 1,500 bucks, and I make about 2,300 bucks. šŸ˜šŸ¤— I took out 1,500 for the wholesaler, and I got 800 bucks as my profit. That was cool šŸ˜Ž. I saved 400 bucks and kept 400 for my daily expenses. I kept repeating the process until the season was out... I have also been so proud of the step that got me my first earnings/pocket money. šŸ’°šŸ¤—šŸ˜Š Thank you for stopping by. See you next time.

Wow, this is beautiful. I admire the courage you displayed in starting off your sugarcane business. That's quite commendable. Your story clearly explains this saying "Necessity is the mother of invention"
