Welcome back,
Crypto scams are something that have been with us since the very beginning, especially after Ethereum, altcoins, and many other blockchains entered the world.
Along with them came the era of scamming people, where users were made to click on fake links and ended up losing their money.

This has been happening for the last few years now, and I think many of us reading this blog, including myself, have been victims of such scams at some point.
Today I am going to share a very recent scam that is going on in the name of the Solana blockchain. I saw this advertisement on YouTube today itself when I woke up and started scrolling through my feed.

I saw an ad claiming that the Solana team was giving away 1 lakh Solana tokens to the community in partnership with a YouTube rewards program. At first, I was really shocked because it was designed very beautifully and looked genuine.
But when I opened the video, I noticed that the number of subscribers on that channel was only a few thousand and the views were also around 2,000 to 3,000.

That itself made it clear that it was not an official Solana YouTube page. Then I calculated the value of 1 lakh Solana tokens, which comes to around $11.35 million USD. That is a huge amount of money, and this made me realize that something was clearly wrong.
After that, I went through the comment section and saw that a few people had already sent Solana tokens to the address mentioned in the video. The scam works in a very simple way.
The video asks you to send a certain amount of Solana tokens, and in return, they promise to send you double the amount. This is completely senseless, and anyone with basic common sense would understand that it is a scam.

I felt really sad for the people who had already lost a large amount of Solana tokens. Even in 2026, when the crypto market is quite mature and people believe they are educated about blockchain, many still fall for these scams and end up losing their money.
Please always remember that any big announcement or giveaway from a major blockchain will always be officially announced on their verified social media handles, whether it is Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, or any other platform.
If something is coming from an unknown or small channel, that itself should be a big red flag. Even if a small project is doing a genuine giveaway, it is very important to carefully read the rules and verify the source.

Most importantly, anyone asking you to send tokens in order to participate in a giveaway should be avoided completely. Just ignore it and move on.
Stay safe, trade carefully, and hold your tokens securely. I hope everyone reading this remains safe from scams and ends this year happily, both in the crypto market and in life. I hope the same for myself as well.
Thank you and happy trading everyone.
