Hello to my fellow community members,
Friends, social media is one of the most beneficial things people use today, but while many see it positively, I have written blogs before about why it is also one of the most negative things of our time. In fact, I believe it is the most negative thing for the current generation.
I have already highlighted how it destroys childhood, how it takes away creativity from young minds. But today, I want to share how it also has a bigger negative impact on adults.
When you use social media too much, you stop researching, you stop reading, and you stop using your brain. You start to simply believe what you see.
Recently, I shared a serious topic from my country where a very renowned scientist and engineer was sent behind the bars for something he did not do. But on social media, some people are spreading misleading content to prove that he was wrong.
This is exactly the problem. On social media, you will often see videos cut out of context, and they can easily misguide you. If you blindly follow what you see, you will end up believing lies. But if you take the time to search for the truth and see the bigger picture, you will understand the reality.
Many of my friends have fallen victim to this, but I always try to correct them. The only solution I see is to stop relying on short videos for serious matters.
Friends, You can watch them for fun and entertainment, but you cannot trust a 10 second video to tell you the whole truth about someone’s words or opinions. Those clips will always leave room for misinterpretation.
So frends, if you are trying to understand an issue or a person’s perspective, always watch the full version of the video. Do your own research. Do not get misled by cut clips. Social media can be useful, but only if we use it wisely.
You can share your thoughts about short content. Do you think it is a good idea to consume them? I personally think that even if you are looking for something entertaining, you should rely on long videos.
When you scroll through short videos, you just waste your time endlessly scrolling, and there is no end to it. That is why I prefer long videos.
I am not against people who consume short content, but I wanted to share my opinion on why it is a bad idea to rely on them when it comes to gaining knowledge.
Thank you for reading my blog till the end.
