Will Your Job Exist In Ten Years? This is the question from this week’s #indiaunited contest. A question that made me pause a little when I first saw it. And my mind fast forwarded to what will the world 🌍 look like in the next ten (10) years, especially as change has continued to make things so fast paced. And the change through technology, innovation and Artificial Intelligence is where the focus has become in this recent times.

Will My Job Exist In Ten Years?

The first thing to consider while answering this very question is what is the nature of ones job. In simple understanding, what kind of job do you do ? Because as long as Technology, Innovation and Artificial Intelligence continued to be improved, many who are on this line of jobs needs to continue to improve themselves to go with the challenges the change will bring.

A Realtor:

I have two different jobs am guaranteed of at this moment. And these has been the jobs I have been doing for the past five (5) years after I stopped working white collar job of 8:00 to 5:00 . Am a realtor who help clients to secure apartments for accommodation. This is one job I like because of my love for architecture designs. And this job entails searching and contacting clients who has made their interest known to me on what kind of apartment they need, their preferred location and the budgeted amount.

Although, many who seek apartments can sometimes go online to check on the posted apartments to see if they can see their preferred choice, which realtors also do by sending shorts of photos from an inspected apartments. But its very obvious that this does not solve the problem because inspecting an apartment in person makes confirmation easy and quick, and at the same time moves the search faster.

So I believe I can be able to continue with this job in the next ten (10) as long as am alive and healthy. This kind of job is not a job a robot 🤖 can do no matter what changes the world 🌎 will have in the next ten (10) years. Many of these realtors who are on this job have been on it for decades. And even many has added other similar jobs like renovations, interior decors , exterior landscaping. These are jobs to goes together.

Apartment Services:

Another area of my job is one that has to do with services of apartments. They are industrial 🏭 cleaning, newly finished building cleaning, pest control that involves fumigation, termites treatment on new lands before foundation is carried out, and waxing of discolored apartments tiles. These are jobs that involves human labor even though machines are used to carry them out. And it also involves direction and inspection, which is why I know that its a job that will continue into the next ten (10) years with life and wellness.

I do not know of what changes we can be having in the nearest future, but am very certain that the above mentioned two jobs will continue to be in places because they are not jobs Artificial Intelligence will easily take away. But this does not stop me from also trying to go with the time in anyway I feel necessary as one has to keep embracing new things and not be left behind.
