Wars And Conflicts In The World - Effects And Solutions.

When we hear about conflicts between countries, it may sound like something far away from us, but the truth is that the effects reaches everyone in one way or another. When I think about the wars that are happening around the world today, that brings nothing but constant pain and suffering to ordinary people, when I think of the fact that it destroys homes, separates families, and leave many people struggling just to survive, when I think of the fact that those who suffer the most are usually the innocent civilians who have no hand in the decision making that leads to the conflicts, it saddens my heart and moves me to tears.

Just about two weeks ago I had a discussion with a man about war. The conversation started after my mother called me from the Eastern part of Nigeria. She advised me to stock my house with food and also plant Some vegetables around my compound. She said this was something we had been instructed to do in my place of worship, judging from the way things are going in the world today. I responded by telling her we had received the same instructions and I told her my plans.

While discussing with the man, he talked about the impact of war not only on children but on humanity as a whole. According to him, war does not just destroys buildings and cities, it destroys lives, dreams, and the normal way people live. He also spoke about past global conflicts like world war 11 and how terrible those times were for many families. He explained that during severe wartime, hunger, desperation, and unimaginable situation that people sometimes faced can move them to make difficult choices just to survive. Hmmmmm, as I was listening to him, it makes me realize how devastating war can be.

Many of those conflicts, we watch them on the television and listen to the news on radio and we also read in News papers. Yes one may say after all, it's happening far from us, the truth is that we are feeling the effects already here in Nigeria. The increase in fuel prices and the high cost of food and other commodities that are often linked to instability and conflicts that are happening in the different part of the world. For example, In Nigeria the price of fuel has increased by almost 20% within four days. That means increase in transport fares, food, and other services. When global trade is disrupted, countries that depends on imported goods suffer the consequences, and the common people feels the pressure the most.

We have been hearing rumours that the president of the United States may want to help Nigeria in one way or the another. Whether it happens or not, one thing is sure which I believe, that support and cooperation between nations can play a vital role in maintaining peace and stability in the world.

In the meantime, I believe that many of these conflicts could be avoided if world leaders chose dialogue, understanding and cooperation instead of violence. It's true that organisations as the United Nations were created to encourage peaceful resolutions, right? But that can not be achieved without genuine commitment from our leaders and nations.

Despite everything, I still hope for a more peaceful future. I believe that if countries focus on unity, fairness, and respect for human life, yes I repeat, respect for human lives, the world can be a better place for all of us. It's true that war may seem like a powerful force, but at the end it causes more harm than good. Peace is always the better path for humanity. I hope that in the future, generations will live in a world without war, fear and in absolute peace.

I look forward to the fulfilment of this Bible prophecy at Isaiah 2:4 that reads, "He will render judgement among the nation's and set matters straight respecting many peoples. They will beat their swords into plowashares and their Spears into pruning shears. Nation will not lift up sword against nation, nor will they learn war anymore." This will happen in God's Kingdom - the only solution to mankinds problem.
