Splinterlands - Opening 5 Foundation Chests to win 3 Epic cards and Reviewing Escalation Decks in Battles after a week!

Hello everyone,
How are you all? I hope everyone is fine and doing great in their life.

Today I am going to talk about the new Escalation packs and the cards that were offered in them. I recently made a post where I shared the opening of four Escalation packs, from which I received 20 cards.

At that time, I did not reflect much on the cards individually, but now that it has been a week, I have a better idea of how the Escalation cards are performing for me in Modern Battle mode.

Before that, I am going to share the opening of five Foundation packs. As you can see in the screenshot below, we are at the Mana Well, and we have five Foundation packs ready to open today.

As usual, I hope for the best because it does not cost anything to hope, and I really want a gold foil legendary card for myself. However, I know it is quite difficult to get one.

In the screenshot below, you can see that I won one epic card in the very first opening, another epic in the third row, and a third epic in the last row. So I won three epic cards today. Apart from that, I also won three summoners one from the Fire element, one from the Life element, and one from the Earth element. So overall, I am happy with this pack opening and satisfied with what I received.

Now let us talk about whether the Escalation packs are helping me in Modern Battle mode or not. Earlier, I used to play Modern Battle mode only with my Foundation cards, and it was really difficult to beat my opponents with them.

In the screenshot below, you can see that I am currently in Bronze 3. I am still not performing very well in battles, but at least I am able to win some of them now.

In screenshot below, you can see all the common cards from the Escalation packs. When I opened my Escalation packs, most of the cards I received were from the common category. In fact, I own almost all of them except three common cards that I do not have yet. It is a bit disappointing that most of my pulls were commons, but that is fine.

Now, if you look at the screenshot below, there is a card named Doomshield Warden. I think this card is quite powerful when it comes to defending your team. If you place it in the first position, it can help your team survive longer. Even at level one, it comes with the Flank ability, which gives the Reach ability to the monster next to it.

So if you have a monster with high melee attack but without Reach, placing it next to Doomshield Warden is a very good strategy. That is one of the main reasons why I like this card.

Apart from that, I also noticed a card named Forlorn Geomant from the Earth element. It has five magic attack, which is insane for me. I believe it costs only around $0.03 in the market, so I might consider buying it directly.

Instead of purchasing more Escalation packs and hoping to get this card, buying it from the market might be a better option. However, I will decide after reviewing other cards as well.

In this post, I am not sharing details about the rare, epic, and legendary cards from the Escalation packs, but I know they are equally good. If you want to start your journey in Modern Battle mode, Escalation packs can definitely help you.

above are other cards from Escalation Packs

However, for now, I would suggest skipping direct pack purchases and instead buying specific cards from the market that fit your strategy. Then you can test them in Modern Battle mode.

Now let me share one of the Modern Battle matches I played today so you can see how the new Escalation cards are helping me. Most of the cards I received from the Escalation packs were ranged monsters.

In the battle lineup below, I used a Life element summoner along with three ranged attack monsters. The first monster was Pixie Knife Hurler, which has the Close Range ability. This means it can still use its ranged attack even if it is placed in the first position.

The second monster was Hungry Ulund, and the third one had five ranged attack named Godsnot Sorceress. That was very powerful for me because I have never had a monster with five ranged attack in my previous deck. It was eliminating one enemy monster at the end of almost every round.

In the screenshot, you can see that the monster named Godsnot Sorceress, eliminated the last enemy monster. That is how I won the battle and earned 82 Glint points as well.

Overall, I feel that the Escalation cards are slowly helping me improve my performance in Modern Battle mode.

Now in the screenshot below you can see the attacks from my terracore base as well where we won 1300+ scraps even after one of the attacks getting dodged and that is why I am happy here as well.

In the golem overlord base the claim were made after we used almost 60% of the total attacks and here as well we won good.

That is all we did in the splinterlands, terracore, and golem overlord today.

Thank you
