A perfect weekend for me would be to go to a quiet place; nothing serious and nothing unusual, but just to be there, sit still while communicating with my Father. For a while now, I have found myself enjoying my relationship with God more than ever.
I love the idea of quiet places and time, and for someone like me who is most times surrounded by noise during the day, except at night when everyone would have gone to bed, leaving my home for a cool spot like a garden outside would be a perfect one while studying the Word of God and yes, getting ideas on how the next journey would be.

My reason is that choosing such a calm place brings a kind of silence that clears the fog that daily life presents to us. Itâs always difficult to concentrate when there is noise around me. How do I even get to listen to God when He speaks?
And for someone who has understood that the voice of God comes like a gentle whisper, I need a more secluded location. This is why being in a peaceful environment is almost like everything inside slows me down with no distractions; my heart becomes steadier, my mind focused, which allows me to pour out my thoughts to God without feeling rushed or distracted. God speaks more in the stillness, and sometimes, stepping away from the usual environment is all I need to be more attentive to Him, making it the perfect weekend for me.
Do you know the benefits one gets from this? Number one, when you spend time in the Word of God without anyone or anything hurrying you, your perspectives are realigned, especially after a long week of responsibilities and interactions. After this is done, leaving there would make me feel lighter, more grounded and more confident in Godâs direction for my life.
Number two benefit is the act of breathing in fresh air, listening to birds or even watching the leaves sway, which can restore oneâs inner calm. This is something I crave, and it will also remind me of Godâs creation, which is itself a quiet teacher we donât often notice at first.
Of course, I wouldnât mind packing a small meal. It would be a simple package, maybe snacks, fruits or anything light enough to keep me refreshed and enjoying. This is because I plan to spend a good part of the day there, and having some food with me wonât make me rush back home quickly or make the worms in my stomach stop screaming âhunger.â I can relax, meditate, read, pray, reflect and enjoy Godâs presence without worrying about the time.
Though I value and love being alone most of the time, I wouldnât mind having someone to share company with so we could talk together and exchange ideas and knowledge. Sometimes, itâs beautiful to have someone who understands the value of quiet and can make the moment even sweeter. After all, two is better than one and if someone could be there to share the peaceful space with me, why not? Having a second person doesnât take away from the intimacy but adds warmth to it.
And by the time the day ends and I finally return home, I will be refreshed spiritually, mentally and emotionally. A perfect weekend for me would be knowing that I had intentionally invested a great time, doing something good with God, and that would make the whole weekend special. And even though no weekend is truly perfect, moments like this come close enough for me.

That would be the most enjoyable weekend someone could ever have. Though its calm and quiete, but the peace of mind you can get doing that would be so much and helpful. Its more amazing coz you are with Him.
